i would not bother using Which magazine reviews for phones. Their tech reviewers couldnt find their own backsides in the dark, so miserabe is their mobile reviews especially android phones. Their reviewers are at best ignorant idiots. Speaking of which i need to cancel my which subscription of many years as i am fed up of their useless tech reviews, they should stick to washing machines and toaster reviews. Any third rate youtube mobile phone review will be miles better than the which mobile reviews and videos. Its fools like me who waste money funding them that pays the idiots reviewing the phones on that website, so will be cancelling my which subscription soon.
So use any other tech website review for phones rather than which magazine reviews.bubblesmoney :hello:0 -
I'm not sure if the other handsets (particularly the 3GS/4) will be affected much, it seems that Apple handsets hold their value very well.
Thanks for info on network but I'm sticking with Vodafone as they have the most reliable coverage where I am.
So you anticipate the iphone 5 costing a lot more than the iphone 4 currently costs? Has the iphone 4 dropped in price since its launch or has it always been one constant price?0 -

this really made me chuckle, guess i've had my subscription so long i've been brain washed.“Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple.” – Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory0 -
Your choice would basically be iOS vs. Android. If you're going with the iPhone, don't bother with the 3GS, wait until around September when they announce the iPhone 5 then iPhone 4 prices will drop, or you may opt for the newer iPhone but that would be costly. As for the Galaxy S II, I think that's the best Android phone in the market today. This is just my opinion but if you're a smartphone newbie, I would lean more towards the iPhone as its more user friendly but if you're a bit of a techie, Android/ Galaxy S II would suit you as it offers more customizations. Just my 2 cents.0

The glass on the iphone 4's break very easily - speaking from personal experience. Friend has the S2 and its a very nice piece of kit. Me? I'm holding out for the iphone5 which should be out next month.0

Hi All,
I'm looking to change phones (and networks!). I currently have a nokia smartphone on the 3 network. However shortly after signing a 24 month contract 3 dropped the 2G coverage in my area in preparation for the 3G launch. It's been more than 6 months and the 3G signal is still not up and running so I have next to no coverage and no internet access when in my home village. They'agreed to release me from my contract without penalty as long as I return the handset.
So I'm hunting around and have found that the best networks I can have in this village are O2 and Orange. I'd like to upgrade to either an HTC or an IPHONE (have been told IPHONE 5 is being released next month?). But I am completely naive when it comes to knowing which is best. Do any of you have suggestions? I'm more of a texter than a talker and do require internet access (obviously!) I'd rather a lower monthly fee so dont mind paying something upfront for a phone and contract length isnt a massive issue as long as I'm not being ripped off.
Huge thanks for any suggestions,

HTC do a wide range of handsets, the Sensation is HTCs 'flagship' at present, the latest Apple OS is very android like, one won't be better than the other, it all depends on indivisual needs and requirements.0

The HTC Sensation (£397.94 SIM free) is rated 3.5/5.0 on Amazon whereas the HTC Desire HD (£356.56 SIM free) is rated 4.5/5.0. I'd say have a look round at reviews and see what you think meets your needs and budget best. At the lower end, the HTC Wildfire S (£193.34 SIM free) is rated 4.5/5.0.
The Giffgaff network runs on O2, so may be worth a try. £10-a-month for 250 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet with no contract. £4.04 Topcashback. It's probably best not to tie into another long-term contract until you are sure you're happy with network coverage, so buying a handset and being free to move networks easily is probably the best way to go.
Good luck!0 -
go and try the handsets first - i have a samsung galazy s and love it , whereas the missus hates it , but loves ` sense` on her htc - whilst they both run android , its the front end that differs0
