I have seen on a thread somewhere around here about getting someone in to check the boiler and plumbing and stuff like that.
Has anyone had this done? will it be covered in the survey? If there is something wrong with the heating should the seller tell us?

We are buying a 2bed flat in a complex of about 30ish flats. I dont know excatly when it was built but it was not that long ago. prob 80s 90s I would guess.

    Morning all

Feeling brave and thought I'd join the thread. My journey as a FTB means I am on my THIRD attempt to buy a property (started in Sept/Oct 2005!!!) and have lost £4K so far :(

But, feeling positive this year, 2007 is the year I WILL MOVE.

Details about property in sig, but just waiting on mortgage approval (hopefully today, phoned mortgage company yesterday and my final documents had got 'lost in the post' so they had to resubmit). Once mortgage is approved I'll ask for the searches to be carried out.

    Congratulations DKNY!!

Thats a form I didn't realise existed Lynzpower - will this come to us from our seller automatically or do we need to ask our solicitor???

It depends if your seller is interested or not.

Personally speaking, Id ask for it now, if they are going to have them be asked let it be done & sorted sooner rather than later, and no excuses for them top drag out your sale by asking for these at the 11th hour ;)

Pass the stress balls over here DKNY.
Because we have had poor news. Our buyer needs a letter from the Home Office before her mortgage offer will be released. This has been hidden from us by her mortgage advisor for the last month. Now our vendor is saying that if this isn't resolved soon (ie within days) she's pulling the plug.
We phoned the buyer directly last night as I thought we might get the full story and we did. I think this whole process is going to end in tears. The HO say they''ll issue the letter by Jan 17th but it will be too late for us then I fear.
