Just been in to sellers EA regarding the issue what the survey picked up, it mentioned that there were signs of bettle infestation in the loft and that specialist advice is needed. We took survey into there EA who copied it. When then spoke to the EA who got in touch with the buyer. We were told if the buyer got in touch with a specialist company they were charge for advice, but if we didn't they wouldn't.
We got a specialist to go round and within a week we got a bill of what it would cost, cleaning the rafters )it says there very dirty) and injecting the rafters with some spray. There EA and seller has been sitting in this since 20th, the cost is £340
The sellers now claim it doesn't need doing as one of the work men mentioned one that its that dirty he cant tell whether there is infestation or not.0 -

I have been in touch with my solictor. He wants to see the quote and then go to the sellers solictors. We have decided as they agreed for us to go and get a company to get a quote for the works, that its only fair we split it 50/50. I personnel think the sellers as they are going to OZ will have us over a barrel so to speak as we have incurred more costs then them, survey, searches as well as buy and sell a property.
If they refuse in all honestly we probably have to pay we dont like the owners, actually its her we dont like, she comes across as a money grabbing cow who likes nice things in life, I wish I could tell them to shove it where the sun dont shine, but as its a home that is suitable for us and we need to move for medical grounds we would cut our nose to spite our face if we told them to shove it. I hate being blackmailed like this they have done it before when they relented on a deal and had to increase our offer by 2 1/2K a huge lot to us.0 -
