I bought a games console from ebuy4u.com, and everything seemed ok initially, good website, I spoke to them over the phone numerous times and they had knowledge of the console and technology, good communication and the console was a decent price but not to cheap and they used Google checkout!
but... the payment was taken and I was given a delivery date, this came and nothing happened... so I contacted them via email and they responded that there were problem with delivery and it will now be delivered on tuesday. Guess what tuesday came and nothing!!
I have tried contacting them by email and telephone without a response, and their phone number is now coming up with a message: "press 1 to text the person your trying to call" - and they won't respond to the contact form via their site!
Their prices changed yesterday and everything went up to around about the RRP.
I have requested a refund from them and submitted a request via google checkout to get a refund and they will try and contact him on my behalf and then after 5 days look into the matter further.
My bank say as I used a Visa debit they cant do anything for 30 days, crazy, credit cards get all the insurance and the people with money in their account cash dont get anything... really annoying.
Can anyone give me some advice on what to do in this situation and what channels I need to go through to get my money back.
Thanks,

I don't know what protection google offer but I would have thought it would be something similiar to paypal, so I guess you'll have to see what they come back.
As for the site it was only started in may 2011 so not a long established website, the trading address is from a trading park by the looks of it and I can't find their VAT number. It looks a good site nothing seems out of place.
Here is the whois record anyway http://whois.domaintools.com/ebuy4u.com information appears to be the same as the website.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
I have the exact same experience with Ebuy4u only with a fridge freezer. Paid £330 on the 4th July through Google and luckily with my Visa credit card. Problems with delivery but they replied promptly with very creditable reasons. As I live out in the wilds and deliverys are difficult I was not surprised. I got the following email from them and have had no response since then:-
We are sorry to hear that our service has been well below our usually standard, and we sincerely apologise for this. We always endeavour to provide the best customer service and admit on this occasion we failed to do this. We have now located you order and have rearranged for it to be delivered by DPD between 5pm-7pm on Tuesday 19th July. DPD will email you a tracking number overnight on Monday along with the name and phone number of the delivery driver so that there aren’t any problems making delivery this time round, (if you don’t get a tracking number along with the name and phone number of the delivery driver by 12pm on Tuesday through email, just give us a call as we will have this information on our system by then). Again we apologise for all the inconvenience and we promise to do everything in our power to put things right.
Thank You for Shopping with ebuy4u!
Yours Sincerely,
Customer Support Team
I phoned the Cariocca Businesses Park and they had never heard of the company, The Businesses Park Manager has emailed them and is reporting them to the trading standards.
I wonder how many people this has happened to, it seems they may have set a date to fade away with our money.

I really want a Canon Powershot G12 and have been checking prices for weeks for a bargain. Ebuy4u appeared on a search offering a serious discount. I was a bit unsure about the website because there were few reviews, mostly anonymous and mostly posted on the same date.
Alarm bells were ringing. However the website is supposedly part of a registered business (a clothing business which is again supposedly on the business park), although only registered last year so no accounts have been posted to date.
I decided tonight to pay with a credit card to cover myself and just caught this thread - thank you both for posting :Tbecause I will now not touch them. Google market place does not offer the same protection as Paypal but I hope this is just a hiccup and you will get your goods.
Let us know what happens - I suppose innocent until proven guilty!0 -

I had an email from Google asking me to review the Ebuy4u transaction, clicked to review and in top right hand corner clicked help. A new page opened and I scrolled down to trobleshooting, another page and clicked request mediation. Hope this helps, good luck.0

I ordered a Dyson vacuum cleaner from ebuy4u on July 10. It was £225 - a saving of around £100 from RRP. The payment was taken from my credit card. Delivery was supposed to be yesterday - July 20 - but nothing arrived. Having read the above posts I am now thinking the worst. I have tried contacting the seller by email and by phone to no avail. In fact the telephone number says "press 1 to send a text" or something similar. I have never had a problem with scams before but I believe this may be one. I have contacted my credit card company who are going to look into the situation for me and I have also logged the problem with Google Checkout. Basically I now want a refund - I don't trust this company. I also can't hang around waiting for a vacuum cleaner so I have ordered it on Amazon instead - it should arrive tomorrow. I'll keep you all posted on what happens next.0

I don't think I've ever seen so many new posters post in a new thread so quickly. My spidersense is thinking "smear campaign"One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Whilst I can't comment on the company involved I would caution about using Google checkout. Mediation is all they offer and if the company refuse to refund that's it, there is no way you can force Google to refund. I gave up using Google checkout when a company tried to defraud me and i realised Google didn't care.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. for one thing it is up to the retailer to provide you the tracking number, but sometimes DPD will email you this, but they will not give you delivery driver details as like a lot of delivery companies until the item is loaded onto a delivery van they will not know what driver will be delivering your goods, but a tracking number is given to the item on collection for the supplier.
also look closly at the whois information http://whois.domaintools.com/ebuy4u.com
a non geographic number 0844 870 8621 most likely directed to a mobile phone
the tech dept is in Gibraltar but does not show a post/zip code has a .co.uk domain name and a UK non geographic number with a UK international code +44.87121808410
