Are you a Travelodge rep or an MSE'er who has emailed Travelodge and got this responce, then created a new account using their name? ?????

Well if you are a rep for the company why haven't you sent EVERYONE who purchaced rooms in your last sale that email, so they can check their accounts. I think you have created a lot of worry and stress today. Not everyone who got a sale room reads MSE boards.

And that idea of giving everyone their Summer sale rooms free, brilliant, I really think you should take note..... might do less damage than an appearance on Watchdog for this fiasco. We were charged twice, so now refund us twice.... simple!

What about your customers who don't use mse? have you sent them a blanket email to explain what has happened today?
I had to take my disabled child to alder hey hospital today and had to drive all the way home on the motorway with my petrol light on,, i now have no money or petrol until tomorrow. How does this help me????

Glad you got home safe niamhtra. Hope the appointment went as well as it could have done. xxx
It's so nice to see how much Travelodge REALLY cares!!!!

When did you first email Travelodge? Did they take long to respond? I emailed this morning but no reply as of yet.
    :)

I think I first contacted then online around 8.15am (I clicked on "contact us" then on the link "if your query is still not answered then please get in touch and let us know" and submitted the details/complaint. They got back to my email address at 8.40am but part of the email title was "auto response". It gave various options for me to submit further details, and wasn't really a satisfactory response to my complaint. I submitted further details and I haven't heard anything since then.

I think there is a misconception here that only people who bought rooms in the sale were affected by Travelodge's error. I actually paid full wack for most of the bookings I made, hence the huge amount of £600. (I was helping my daughter out as she desperately needed accommodation for a new job in Essex and hadn't got the funds to pay herself, pending her first pay cheque). (I was just unlucky that I made the bookings on or around the 9th June). The mind boggles as to how many people have been affected by this.

Also, as someone said, you have to feel sorry for the people who don't/aren't able to check their bank accounts on a regular basis or see what's happened on MSE. They will be completely in the dark.

    Thanks,

I emailed at 9am but have had no response at all, not even automated.

Hope they dont ignore all our emails and just send out a basic email tomorrow.
  • I booked on 4th June for a two night stay starting on 5th June at a cost of £159.20. I emailed this morning and got an auto response asking for a variety of details all involving my card number, depending on what the transaction showed as on my statement. I am almost 100% sure that the money has only been taken once but after all this time I had forgotten about it and as I'm not paid til next Friday a bit browned off that it took so long.

It strikes me that there is more than one problem here, the first being the duplicate payments but the second being the time taken to collect any payment which will no doubt have caught a lot of people out.

    Annie :(

I have had the money taken out yesterday and then put back in today. I did not get in touch with them due to me not knowing and being away.
