urgent...check ur bank TRAVELODGE taking payments twice!!!

Arggh !

I was one of the people affected by the double charge and was sure I had enough money in my account to cover what they took before they refunded !

But I have just looked at my monthly statement and I have incurred overdraft charges !!!!

They took the double charge on the 13th and this pushed me into unauthorised overdraft.

I got paid on the 14th - just as well as the Travelodge refund did not show up until the 15th !!!!


I got no letters/messages from my bank to say I had gone overdrawn but it is there in black and white with the charges.

Anyone else in the same boat? Rang the 01844 number but constantly told it is closed for "staff training" which adds insult to injury.

I have been affected by this duplicate run on 14th July. I called my bank who said Travelodge have admitted the mistake and will refund everyone. Still no refund. I called my bank again to be told they are getting lots of calls from people wanting their refund but there is nothing the bank can do until TL do another run to refund the money. I phoned Debit card queries and the guy at the bank almost shouted at me that it wasn't their issue and I must contact TL, so rude. He is adamant it was not a duplicate run despite the bank already telling me it was and all the publicity about it.

So I haven't got a refund so far and my bank are being useless!

I have emailed TL Customer Services and am waiting for a reply although I don't expect to get one!
