Egg...

  • I wrote to Egg back on 9th Feb, attempting to c laim back a total of £165.50 and the responded saying out charges are fair blah blah blah about ten days later.

Their letter also said that if I was unsatisified I could contact the FOS within 6 months.

Hmm, straight to the FOS, strange, I thought. So I wrote (using template of course) on 24th Feb stating I had not received a satisfactory response and would be going via Small Claims if no reply within 14 days...

... well that 14 days has come and gone, no reply at all never mind a satisfactory one.

What action should I take now ? Should I go towards the court side of things, or should I move towards the FOS (bearing in mind it will be cheaper for Egg to settle with me than to pay the FOS for a complaint review) ?

    Any guidance appreciated.

Have just got off the phone to Egg customer services with regards to my DPA request (sent 6th Jan), who said they're massively backlogged and only just now starting to work through requests received in December!!

Unfortunately I neglected to send the letter registered post, so I'm concerned that I could be hanging in the ether for some time - has anyone had any luck getting anything back from them recently?

    Hi

I had a egg credit card from 2004 to 2006 wich i had toook out online.
I was charged £160 in total for being over my credit limit at a rate of £20 each time i went over. I sent them the first stage later complete with list of charges requesting a full refund. I receved the usual response that the charges were valid and were apart of the terms and conditions, so i sent the second stage letter again requesting full refund and threatend cout action. They have now sent me a letter stating that there credit card overlimt charges have now been reduce to £16 (not the £12 what every one else has reduced to) and they are willing to refund me the diffrence i.e £4 (from £20 to £16) so this would equate to £32 in total..

Oviously this is unacceptable i am just wandering what my next move should be ? should i send another letter again threating cout action or do i just stop responding to them and go straight to the FOS? and does anybody know what the chances are of the FOS retreiving the full amount for me?

Ok so i have decided to send egg one last letter rejecting there
    offer of £32.00.

just wandering if anybody can give me some advice:

Should i threaten to take my case directly to the county court by-passing
the FOS? would this be more likely to get them to cough up? or should i just stick to the norm and advise if they dont pay out in full i will start proceedings via the FOS?

    Any advice would be appreciated

I had an Egg card some time ago and I thought that I would see about claiming back anything (if anything) But I have lost the account number of the card I have emailed them to ask for it, giving date of birth and address, and also used one of the template letters including the £10 cheque, they have received the letter (sent recorded) over a month ago (checked Royal Mail website) but no reply to either.what is my next course of action?
