Hi folks, until recently I had been with Egg since 2001 and Egg has since foreclosed my account. The nature of the account is now that I keep paying it off via regular monthly online payments to them at their "reasonable" 26.9%.
Although I have not been the stereotypical account holder that they would have preferred, I find myself lowing the account balance at a remarkably slow pace. (Snail with an anchor) Since looking at my account in more detail (limited by what I can see on the online account) I have found varying charges for defaults on DD, late payments and over limit charges.
I am at the stage as probably many can relate to claiming some of these charges back and have of today sent a letter to Egg asking them for a "fully comprehensive list of all default charges"
The quandary that I have at the moment is, what can I actually claim for and can I also claim compounded interest?- Is it the 8% or 26.9% interest rate I should claim on?
- What actually is classified by a charge?
- The percentage of the charge I am allowed to claim against
- And anything else that seems applicable
Regards and thanks for reading Dave S0 -

You will probably have to write to them 3 times to work your way through their standard letters, but eventually you will get it all back plus 8% interest. I speak from experience. Don't be put off by their legal arguments and fob off replies.

Letter 3 and court papers being prepared against these numpties.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
I've received the standard "our charges are fair" reply and am now sending the second letter. So far, so good. You've said that I should send a third letter after this. What should I write in the third letter? Any examples that worked?
Thanks, phaemon0 -
Don't think it really matters…. Just say you're still not happy, you're gonna take them to court, something like that.

Well, the reponse to my 3rd letter was pretty much, "Och well then have your stinking money back..............just sign here.........." which I have done and will be returning the pro-forma in the post tomorrow!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

How long does it take for Egg to reply to a data request letter?
I send off for a copy of my statements over 3 weeks ago but I've not had any response yet.
I've got the receipt for the postal order how do i see if it's been lost in the post or cashed?
I'm going to send a letter tomorrow asking about the request. What should i put in the letter?Laters

I'm sure it was about 3 or 4 weeks in my case. Their Customer Services team are probably rushed off their feet trying to contact all those people they may have miss-sold PPI to and who the FSA have asked them to contact!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0
