  • Hi, Just wondered if anyone has had problems receiving full statements from their credit card company? I`ve just got mine from egg but has 2 months missing & the first £1000 spent on it, is itemised but has no payement details? There are only charges for going over limit a few times, but no details of late payements? I know this is in-correct as at one point it was referred to a debt collection agency for my non-payement! I`ve emailed them but suprise suprise had no response, has any one got any ideas/advice please?

Write to them and ask for FULL statements from the date you requested them. Make them aware you have already paid for a Subject Access Request.

I have been trying to get a statement from egg since January so that i can try and reclaim my PPI and any excess charges. I filled in their request form and sent it with the correct payment. After a month i contacted Egg to ask were my statements were but was told that there was a backlog and they were dealing with Decembers requests and it could be another six weeks. Six weeks came and went and when i contacted them again they confirmed that they had received my request and it can take up to twelve weeks from the date they received the requests. This date came and went and i was told it would be a further seven to ten days. Well guess what! that deadline has come and gone. They have just sent me an e-mail explaining they are still dealing with Decembers requests. This was the same excuse they gave me back in January. Has anyone any suggestions?

I got my PPI back just by asking for it. They missed the 40 day deadline on statements so 2 weeks later I phoned Customer Relations on 0800 7834 393, I got the same story that you got but the girl I spoke to said that if I was just asking for statements she could print them off for me and I got them a few days later. She said I will still get them again when they get around to processuing them but you are also likely to get your cheque back too
    Good luck

I sent a DPA request to Egg on 26 March. I sent it recorded delivery.

The letter was never signed for - nor has it been returned to me. Moreover, the postal order hasn't been cashed either.

I'm going to register the incident with the Information Commissioner - but I have a sneaking feeling that I'll not win.

I'm thinking of sending the same request again, with another postal order, but this time sending it by special delivery (not recorded delivery). Special delivery is a wee bit more expensive but you can insure against consequential loss - so I reckon that if it's not delivered this time, I'll make a claim against Royal Mail instead.

From what Egg tell me they are snowed under with requests and will return your cheque/postal order when they send your statements. I spoke to someone in the Customer Relations Office on 0800 7834 393, they printed my statements and sent them to me in a couple of days. Try that and i hope it helps

    Credit card or bank charges?
How much do they charge or percentage do they take from you for doing it for you?
