Can an affair ever have a happy ending?

Yes, but maybe the mother hadn't slept with her husband for a long time, so she knew whose child it was! From reading the post (see, I can do that as well
) it sounds like they stayed with their spouses, only because they were the main earners, and did not want to leave them in the soft stuff. And it took 5 and 10 years to sort it out. Anyway, the poster sounds quite happy, and her parents were together for 25 years, so that would qualify for a happy ending!
But maybe not a happy beginning/middle.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

So the husband thought the baby arrived by Stork?
Nothing in that tale spells happy.0 -

I think we're building up a picture of the women we (men) either have to stay clear of, or look out for, depending on the bloke
So I did, I must be a hussy after all. :rotfl:
You think so? To my mind, anyone with a conscience should be able to resist temptation if either they or the other party are in a relationship. It shouldn't matter what type of woman (or man) is tempting them.
No disrespect to anyone here, as I don't know your individual circumstances, just stating my own moral code.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.Started 30th January 2018.

See, she's very cute. Reminds me of my friend.

But you do have a point. (and are dragging the thread kicking and screaming back on topic).
Anyone should be able to resist temptation, but in history it has been shown that men find it harder. I would be able to as long as my marriage is strong, if it is in problems, then tbh I would find it alot harder. But I would still have to make that choice.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I have never agreed with affairs, as I've never seen a situation where splitting up first and getting together wouldn't have been better all round. But the thing that has astonished me during this thread is just how incredibly selfish (or maybe I should say single-minded) mistresses are. (Haven't heard from any male mistresses that I can recall; is there a word for male mistresses?):heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Don't be so ridiculous!! She could have found out she was pregnant, and then could have slept with her husband once. Anyway, nowhere does it say that the spouses did not know of the situation. I'm sure some people would be prepared to stay with "cheating" oh's, either for lifestyle, money, kids etc. That is the thing with forums, no one fully knows of others' circumstances, yet many are prepared to be very judgmental, based on the little that is posted here.0 -

And of course, the "poor" man has no say, does he? My mam and dad were happily married for nearly 50 years, as was oh's. Operative word is "happily"!! No one can "steal" another person if they are quite happy where they are!!0
