That's sweet. My eldest would be the same - DH is the only father she's ever known.Lotus-eater wrote: »Nope, only men can be cuckolded. Women are just plain cheated on, I think.
Gonna have to look that up.
In fact some men get off on it, so if a woman wants to keep her options open during a relationship, then find someone like that.

"Cuckold is derived from the Old French for the cuckoo, coucou, with the pejorative suffix -old. The earliest written use of the Middle English derivation, cokewold, occurs in 1250, written by Jesse Conklin.[2] The females of certain varieties of cuckoo lay their eggs in other bird’s nests, freeing themselves from the need to nurture the eggs to hatching. The female equivalent cuckquean first appears in English literature in 1562, adding a female suffix to the "cuck"; Wittol, which substitutes "wete" (meaning witting or knowing) for the first part of the word, first appears in 1520.
Cuckolds have sometimes been written as "wearing the horns of a cuckold" or just "wearing the horns". This refers to the fact that the man being cuckolded is the last to know of his wife's infidelity. He is wearing horns that can be seen by everybody but him. This also refers to a tradition claiming that in villages of unknown European location, the community would gather to collectively humiliate a man whose wife gives birth to a child recognizably not his own. According to this legend, a parade was held in which the hapless husband is forced to wear antlers on his head as a symbol of his wife's infidelity. Whether or not this actually happened is unknown but the phrase has survived (also see the Italian insult cornuto)." Wikipedia.
Lotus I bow to your superior knowledge.
So PTN'S lover's wife is a cuckqean. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Yes but I think because it's seen as worse for the man to be cheated on by a mere woman, he is treated with more disdain than a woman cheated on and that's why we still have a name for him.gratefulforhelp wrote: »Lotus I bow to your superior knowledge.

No one uses the female version, in fact I didn't know it existed.
And yes, some men get off on being a cuckold, just put "cuckolded men" into google.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Of course it's worse because of the opportunity to pass one man's offspring as that of anothers..................

DS sees and always has seen his Dad, too. They have a very close relationship, but it's more father-son (as it should be). I've always said ex was a crap husband but a great Dad.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

There's a difference between a need and a want.
If I was in dire need of help, I'd ask him, of course I would, but I wouldn't manipulate him to get something I want and I wouldn't ask him for something for the sake of it.
My laptop works fine, it's missing 13 keys, but I can still type with it. I'd rather he spent money on himself than treating me to a new lappy.
I'm an only child but I'm not his princess. I'm a grown woman with a family of my own and don't think taking advantage of people is a decent thing to do.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
