Can an affair ever have a happy ending?

I dunno - most probably because I'm generally such a quiet mouse and I'm not sure what's allowed on here and seen similar words with @*# etc in them - having said that I've most probably seen more sexy words than this on this site and this thread alone so I should have just typed it out in full!Oh well, you live and learn and knowing me next time I'll write something out in full and get picked up on the word not being allowed! LOL

My Dad left my Mum for another woman, I was about ten at the time.
He was married to my stepmum for 25 years till he died last year.
They were very happy, me and my Mum and brother were pretty miserable for a long time though.Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
This is somewhat off topic but I am annoyed at Boris Johnson going on about the morals of the rioters. He cheated on his family, and according to the papers last time I looked has split from his family and not living with the mistress/lovechild either. The difference seems to be that he comes from a privileged background so he is 'permitted' to judge others. (Of course, I don't agree with the behaviour of the rioters).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Whitewing - that's so far off topic it's in outer space..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

It is sort of on topic, in that society tends to be more forgiving of upper-middle and upper-class people committing adultery.

I don't see it as a class issue. Just as while I personally believe Purple is probably an ordinarily good enough person this is a bad thing she's doing....I don't believe it changes that she has ''morals'' and somehow becomes evil.
Boris was wrong to have an affaire. Without doubt. BUT he's moved on.
Crikey, if we were all required to step down from a position of responsibility or outspokenss if we once did a bad thing the world would be without leaders and very, very mute!0 -

when there partners were chosen for them by necessity not love and divorce was harder...
tbh, less bad to have an affair than beheading to get the next in the sack.
The modern royal family I think did get a hard deal. People were vile about charles and camilla...and it had a lasting impact on her title and role.0 -
