Sarah please go back to your provider and talk to them about this. If they try to fob you off then you could print off this thread and show it to them. Explain that you were lied too and this is NOT the job you applied for. Bear in mind that the provider may well only be interested in getting their payment /commision for you to stay there which is why i suggested showing the provider this thread and tell them about this "dress code" Which high street store is this by the way? Dont say if you dont want to. I dont want you to get into trouble.

Ive emailed her this evening, Will wait what she says.
Thank you for your replies. any advice is greatly appreciated. :(

I was worried that if maximus arranged the job, and it gets back to them that I refused a job I would lose my JSA, I keapt getting told I should be ready and willing to accept any job whilst im sighning on. :(

ask them if they would be prepared to dress in a short skirt and stocking! Its sexist and not right

And it would seem that this is a charity helping to organise this work http://www.cdguk.org/programme. words fail me that a charity is invlolved in this sort of so called "work programme" Disgusting.
Thanks for your Pm Sarah. I dont care WHAT they are selling. You should not be forced to dress like that.

The thing is CDG never found this vacancy, the jobseeker did or did I read it wrong. In any case this is why it's best to know your rights. Jobcentre tried to pull a fast one and tell me work experience is mandatory when I hit week 5 of my claim (which in actual fact it's much later).

You have to do the whole 104 weeks
    thanks.
i feel sorry for them. they really are keen to get many people onto it as quickly as possible arent they. some providers must be thinking how the f*** are we supposed to get all these people a job.

If you start work then your provider will be keeping in touch with you for a whilw as once you have been in a job for six months (or three for some people) then the provider gets paid a lump sum and a monthly allowance for some time afterwards. It is worth playing along as there will be incentives to keep you in work such as bus passes, work clothes etc.
i suspect alot of people who get a job and then get contacted by the provider will ignore them and even tell them to f*** off.

I am sorry but I do not see how they are going to get me an interview? No one can make an employer interview you
when they get you an interview it usually means for a work placement not a job.

So they are like an agency? Wouldnt a local provider only be contacting local companies? Or all over?
no doubt if you are willing work further away they will be willing to contact companies further away.
