I have got an interview for the Work Programme next friday so I guess its happening now0 -

if i found work and they tried to track me i would tell them to f*** off and mind their own business. well i would like to do that. i would actually just ignore them if i was working and they contacted me for an update.

what? If you find a job you have to stay on the work programme for 2 yrs?0 -

If you are on flexible new deal now you will be expected to start the work programme which would finish in 104 weeks time.
If you are on the WP start work and become unemployed again within a set period of time you will go straight back to your provider.
If you start work then your provider will be keeping in touch with you for a whilw as once you have been in a job for six months (or three for some people) then the provider gets paid a lump sum and a monthly allowance for some time afterwards. It is worth playing along as there will be incentives to keep you in work such as bus passes, work clothes etc.The World come on.....0 -

Show silly is that
If I find my own job they get paid for what exactly? I don't get it - I don't need a nanny I need support to get to interviews0 -
i have been on jsa for over a year after lone parent I do volunteer work as my daughter has special needs but not enough to get extra support and help. I had my switch over appointment meeting with job centre advisor and in my area there is 2 work programme providers however there is a backlog and i now have to wait for an appointment with them, you are with them for 2 yrs and in the tracking side once you are in work apparently its for support we shall have to wait and see!!! you have to see these in the meantime however many times they say could be x number of times a week and still attend the jobcentre fortnightly! hope this helps a little - im still very confused by it all and will just have to wait and see but hopefully i will be in work soon.0

they can only expect you to attend if they pay travel as I have no money to get to mine as I looked it up and its 7 miles away0 -

As I said in the other thread the providers are doing the jobcentres work for free hoping that they can get you back to work and pick up the payment. It is a risky business for them. If somebody gets a job under their own steam then the payment helps mitigate that risk and makes it more attractive to continue working with the long term unemployed.
I have already said how your provider can help you get interviews, ask to speak to their recruitment team. Go in with a positive can do attitude and you will be working in a month or to. Go in with a load of excuses and nay saying you will still be signing on arounf the twelth of neverThe World come on.....0 -
