So they call companies? I dont get that, sorry. If I am doing the job searching and applying for jobs how will they get involved?

I am looking up to 1hr and 30 mins away from home like the law states you have to be in order to claim JSA
they will only look further away if you ask them to. otherwise they will stay local. when they have a chat with you they will ask what kind of work you are interested in and also suggest other types of work. they will then contact companies in those areas of work to ask if they will take you(probably on work placement). they will then tell you about any that show an interest in you.

you signed a 30 hr a week contract? Why are you working more then? That should be optional not having to work it as she has threatened you. Ask for the number the the companies HR team and call them!!!
the contract may say they must be willing to work overtime as and when required.

i would start looking for another job to get out of it. also ask for a copy of your contract if you dont already have a copy and study it to work out what you can say no to. if you can find the time go and seek advice from the citizens advice bureau as well. consider joining a union that covers retail workers.

I will start looking for another job soon as I can, I havent got a contract, she said it would come through the post.
I filled in the forms yesterday and clearly stated I couldnt work weekends and would happily work the 30 hours a week originally stated in the interview. Hope I dont get the sack for not turning up tomorrow, Dont think I could work if I go in, Feel really tired :(

Im not surprised you are tired. And another girl has to sleep on her grandmothers floor.
Im assuming its because the wage is so low that she cant afford a cab home. This is all absolutely ridiculous.
This beatch of a boss is on a MASSIVE power trip.

I did initially ask my lone parent advisor if I could put myself forward for the back then 13 week programme, I have a daughter who has a high level of care needs and I am her carer, as a result of this, I could only commit to three days placement, my lone parent advisor expemted me from the 4 hours per week in centre jobsearch as I was more than capable fo doing this from home. However the provider made it hell, I did in the end agree to go into the centre to do jobsearch but I could not commit to the specific day a week they wanted me to commit to, I was going in but one week it maybe a monday, the next week it may be a tuesday, because my daughter has a number of different appointments with different consultants.

The provider would not accept this was my agreement when I first signed up.

As a result I provided them with the bare minimum of jobsearch evidence, 3 job applications per week of jobs I had no intention of going for. The other jobs that I really wanted I applied for from home, therefore did not give them the evidence.

I got myself a job through jobsearch in my own time, told my lone parent advisor I wanted to be removed from the programme because of the fact they expect you to go in 4 hours per week and do nothing. I then began working. I did not want the provider to gain anything from my hard work that I had used my own resources and time to apply for.

    Hi
I signed a 30 hour contract, When I phoned to ask for a vacancy I asked what they have and she said Stock control job 30 hours a week.
Now she keeps saying I have to be flexible if not She will look to interview somone else :(

30 hour a week, in interview she said 9-3
then you really need to step up and say your contract states 30 hours and the interview she said 30 hrs

If she threatens you just call head office

I always saw the girls work there wear black trousers and the store's shirt. So I thought it would be the same, I asked the girls today and they said only this new boss who started 2/3 weeks ago has made the new dress code a dress with tights amongst other nightmare changes.

One of the girl was really upset today she lives more then 2 miles from the shop and travels by bus, She made it clear the latest she can work is 5.30.
which was fine until new boss came and puts her down till 6.30, the latest bus that goes her way is at 6.15 and she misses it so she goes to her nanas to on her floor in a sleeping bag :(

you ALL really need to have a word with her or ALL contact your head office as it seems this new manager has it in for you all.

Ask to see a copy of the company dress code !
