Has anyone heard from Barclays since the gesture of goodwill letter?

  • I rang at the end of last week to try and find out what is going on, I got told claims are being dealt with in date order. I told them that two of mine had been looked at from November and January and that people are waiting from way before this. The customer relations manager (funny they are all cs managers with no-one above to speak to?) told me that although they are working in date order some cases are more complicated so take longer to action. I asked for example of what this could be and was told he could not tell me this.
When faced with the question that as they are 'as a gesture of goodwill' paying out on all these why there would be cases taking longer to action than others the spouted the more complicated rubbish again.
Does anyone know if they are dealing with these in house or outsourced?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has had their ppi goodwill gesture from barclays as yet.
I had the two letters from Barclays in June saying that I would receive goodwill gestures by end of August 2011,
I phoned them last week and they say my littlewoods Barclaycard is still been looked at, and my goldfish baclaycard has gone down to Northampton for processing, The office is up in the North east, he still said it would be before the end of August, and told me I would have to wait, however he then said it may be abit before, Has anyone got any further?

    Hi Di
I emailed that address over a week ago, I still have not recieved a reply or even an aknowledgement.:-( . I do not know how long it will take if they reply at all.

Maybe we will still all get a cheque before end of August.

    Hi

I bet they have stacks of emails to get through, so maybe a phone call would be far quicker then, I would, good luck.;)

I haven't heard on any of mine. Mine were sent end of January 2011.
2 loans put on hold went to FOS and have had a letter from them saying Barclays will be making a goodwill gesture in line with the FSA guidelines ie all PPI payments, interest and 8% interest by 31st August.
My Barclaycard I did not send to FOS and had a similar letter direct from Barclays. That one should be interesting as have had the Barclaycard longer than I can remember - at least 30 years.
I cannot believe they will refund that long of PPI payments. Let's wait and see.

Right thats it I am going to get on the phone to them again on Monday because that is really out of order that us people with the old claims are still waiting
    Hear ,hear.
This is totally out of order,i have put a complaint into the FOS and the FSA,dont expect much though to be honest,Bob diamond got a really snotty email for me.as i quoted his "treating customers fairly" crap and asked why he was not applying this to the claims.

Hi Di, i sent emails to Bob diamond, the FOS and the FSA,to complain about the way claims that were put in before jan 2011,were not being paid out,yet people who had claims in from jan this year have been paid out by sending emails to the ceo of the banks.

I do not have a new email address for anyone :D:D:D
