Is there any other cats using the same litter tray? We had this problem when we had 2 cats, so got them seperate litter trays and it was fine after that.0

It's quite a puddle, I'm not sure how much they scent mark, I'm pretty certain he's weeing. I'm gonna squirt lemons all over the floor!! He's the only cat and his litter tray is always clean.0

Last weekend's Telegraph covered this topic:

look at the 3rd of 4th article down, it covers cats0 -
We got a kitten in August and he pee'd and poo'd on the duvets and on the sofa. We excluded him from all those rooms...we haven't had a pee incident for about a month. We get about one poo a week in unwanted places but I can cope with that. I think he's just very fussy about how clean his tray is so I empty solids out of it asap and completely change the litter every morning. He just will not 'go' outside, but I'm hoping he may do next spring/summer when he'll be outside more.
I tried lemon juice but he just licked it! I bought a spray from the pet shop called 'get off' and spray that in his usual places when it looks like he may be about to poo... it's the pee I couldnt stand though- it stinks, and you have the duvets cleaned etc etc. Hard work. We now let him in the sitting room when we are in there, so (touch wood) it's just a case of perseverance...

The rule of thumb for cats and litter trays is 1 litter tray per cat, plus one spare!
Therefore for one cat 2 trays is best! You will find they pee in one and poo in the other, juts like they would when outside - they don't do both toilets in the same place!
Also check, is the litter tray- private - not near doors/windows
- as clean as can be - especially with covered trays it can be hard to tell how string the ammonia smell is
- not near food and water
- big enough - they like to scrape and turn around, what is a big tray for a kitten may not be big enough for an adult
Feliway is also fab, and for cleaning keep to things without ammonia in, e.g dilute clothes washing powder, or a cleaner from the vets/pet shop. Virtually all of our household cleaners have ammonia in, so although smells fresh to us, it smells just like pee to the pets, encouraging them to go there again!

Forgot to add about cat litter
Sandy/clumping types are best - the best value I have found is Sainsburys ultra clumping litter. It feels good for the cats, and clumps the pee really well, making the tray easy to clean.
For the ultimate cat litter - Waitrose Clumping is fabulous, but not that money saving!
Scented ones are just for our nose, not the cats!Give yourself a Chistmas bonus £14 a week!

He's got a litter tray, which he uses for #2's, but he keeps weeing behind the dining table. I've covered the area in wash powder (supposed to breakdown the enzymes, I think) but how can I stop him from doing it in the first place?
My cat had a similar problem. You can get some good tips for solving this problem here: http://www.squidoo.com/dogcatpetsfreetips/Seasons greetings to everyone!0 -
Our kitten/cat is about 5 months old. He's a he and he hasn't been done yet. He was very clean initially but not with no 2's any more. He's obviously got his litter tray which he's happy to pee in ( 80% of the time ), First off it was only the odd accident beside the tray - now he seems to think the tray is for peeing in only and the floor tiles around the tray are for the other. After cleaning up I've been disinfecting and bleaching to kill the germs ( and scent ) as I know cats scent their 'place' but he always goes back to it. Other than this he's happy and healthy. Any suggestions ?
P.S. He's my first cat so I may be doing something obviously wrong.0
