Yes it is fine to flush, but only the clumps- I mentioned World's Best ages ago. It is expensive, but excellent. Chick crumb and layer's pellets are similar .There are other brands of corn derived litters. Also used cat's best oko plus - excellent. Zooplus don't stock world's best to my knowledge.MPM are the manufactures - if you get it from shows like the Supreme they do a good price http://www.mpmproducts.co.uk/acatalog/Worlds_Best_Cat_Litter.html
Just a note though due to bacteria you do have to empty the whole tray every so often.0 -
I tried it and it's great in many respect but I hated the smell of it - absolutely couln't stand it! Have they changed the smell now? Is it better?LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

I prefer to use Catsan's clumping litter. The wet litter just forms into a ball that is easily lifted out of the tray with a scoop, leaving the rest of the litter fresh to continue using. I only need to change the entire tray once a month, for hygiene reasons, so a small bag (currently 2 for £7.50 at Pets At Home) lasts me the entire month as I pour in about 2/3rds of the bag to start then top it up weekly to keep it deep in the tray. Find it much easier to keep clean this way.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

It's minging, he keeps peeing everywhere, he's had to stay in these past few weeks because he's had his injections. He's got a litter tray, which he uses for #2's, but he keeps weeing behind the dining table. I've covered the area in wash powder (supposed to breakdown the enzymes, I think) but how can I stop him from doing it in the first place?0

you'll just have to be very vigilant. Any time you think he wants to go, pick him up and pop him onto the litter tray, he'll soon get the message. He's a baby, he needs a little guidance
It's the same with dogs. Constant watching and taking them outside until they go. Give your kitty lots of praise when he does have a wee in the tray.

Hiya, is his litter tray kept far enough away from his food & water bowls? Cats don't like to go near to their food. Have you changed the type of litter? Maybe he can't use that type for #1's? My cat has had Cystitis 2x & she couldn't use her litter tray to pee then. You can try to discourage him from peeing in his spot, they hate citrus smells so you could clean with that or put his food there & that should soon stop him! Have there been any changes recently such as another pet, new baby etc? If all else fails please take him to the vet just to rule out any medical problem, although as he's just had his vaccinations i'd think the vet would've picked up on anything & you don't need to worry too much!0

Thank you both, I think it could be because his litter tray is too near his food and also we've been using a new litter, so I'll change back to his old one, move his litter tray and move his food. See how that goes. He's always been very good with his litter tray since we got him, but I don't think he's very happy with having to stay in, he's got his second injection tomorrow, then he's only got to stay in for another week.0

He could just be scent marking, rather than urinating. Try a Feliway spray or plug diffuser, it is meant to help, should be available from you vet or maybe online.
He could be spraying because he is frustrated at being kept indoors - hope it stops soon.0
