    Cake cases

I'd like some bright and/or foiled cases at bargainous prices given that I am giving all the cakes away at a fundraiser so wanting to be frugal with my money. Would appreciate any links to reliable sites/sellers.

    thanks

I got some from Wilkos that aren't too bad. They are muffin sized, brightly coloured and gold and silver foil cases. They don't peel away either :)

Thanks. Do you recall how much/many in a pack?

The gold and silver foil ones are 56 to a pack. Its a mixed pack and they look about 50/50.
The coloured ones are 48 to a pack. They are packaged as 2 colours to each pack - about 50/50. There isn't a particular colour combination to a pack, it's a little random. That is probably its only draw back.

Wow, i have read this thread from the beginning and i am thoroughly excited! I have my first batch of cupcakes in using good to know recipe just to have a good!

Ok, so. My kitchen is practically empty. I have thrown out a lot of old stuff that was pretty useless, so i have a hand electric mixer and the normal cooking basics and thats about it. I do have about £30 amazon credit which is handy and i want my first purchase from there to be a good recipe book. Is it worth buying one of the hummingbird books? if so which one?

Then i will have to commence buying other useful items, and i think i will get a mixer before christmas too.

I did stick my nose in the last thread but didnt do anything about it unfortunately.

    Hi!

I'm fairly new to cupcakes as well. I bought Cookie Girls book first. I then bought The Humming Bird Cake Days book. Having tried a few recipes from each they both have good qualities. IMHO though, I prefer the taste of Cookie Girls but Hummingbird have loads of great ideas (some that I've adapted to Cookie girls recipes).

Sorry I've not been much help but thought I'd share my experiences of them both.

Hummingbird Cake Days has more recipes in it but there are plenty in Cookie Girl too.

Personally I don't find the hummingbird books all that good. Everything looks lovely but they don't taste great to me? Maybe i'm just rubbish lol.

The best baking recipe book ever (in my opinion! lol) has got to be the Be-Ro Recipe Book, ok so it isn't the most fancy book out there, but it has classic recipes that you will turn to again and again. Best of all it costs around under £2 :money:.

My Mum had one of these at School, and I got one from School too. You can buy them from ebay and I have spotted them before in Morrisons in the asile where the flour is.

Everyone should have a Be-Ro recipe book! lol
