Can anyone suggest how best to make a cake that is sort of plant pot shaped? I'm hoping to make a special cake for when one of our machines at work closes and one of the main parts is like a big plant pot!!0 -

I would make a stack of cakes the height you want, the width of the too rim. Put a disc on top, the same width that you want the bottom to be, and carve downwards and outwards. Then crumb coat it, and turn it up the right way for a plant pot. The bottom can't be too narrow though, or it'll fall over
Oh btw, I just had a phone call from a cake decorating company, saying that these cake pops have won a competition! I'm so chuffed! I think the prize is vouchers to spend with them, but I also get the picture in their newsletter, so everyone will see my creations!

HannahIOW you cake topper looks fab I really like the butterflies made of the wire how did you do them they look so delicate.
I am planning my next cake for my dd for her 15th sort of know what I want to do but want to have a go at people figures bur dont know where to start. (if anyone has any tips they will be appreciated)
