You tube is where I learnt most of my cakey skills. Bbcgoodfood.com have brilliant cake recipes. I always use their easy vanilla cake one.
I stopped using the vanilla cake for orders as I was worried about how long it would keep for with having the yogurt in it as the yogurt only keeps for 3 days after its opened.

But when it's cooked into the cake Emms the yoghurt keeps fine. I've had people tell me they were still eating moist cake a week later from that recipe - I've never managed to keep it longer than a day or 2 because it is so moreish.0 -

Thank you. Yes, I did. I started doing all the way round the bottom, then the next layer up, etc. I popped a star or a decoration in any gaps or messy spots. It took me a few attempts to get it right. I had to scrape a couple of roses off

Well you would never know to look at it - it's perfect! Thank you for the explanation. x0 -
Can anyone tell me how far in advance I can make sugarpaste shapes please? I'm trying to work out the timing for my daughters birthday cake as I have to fit it in around work and 3 children so would like to start things as soon as I can!

I usually start 2-3 weeks before the party! (I am also a working Mum with 3 Kids).

Aww, thanks Zippy! I'll start planning mentally just now then and get going in a couple of weeks!
