Yes I looked earlier and saw it had been locked. It would be nice to be updated by Poppyfield.

Whilst I wish poppy and her family the love and strength to get through whats ahead, I refused to comment on the original thread as it was appearing that unless what you had to say was deemed to be what a certain few wanted to hear - then you were torn to pieces.

Still it was better then JK - for a while

well if thats abuse there is really no point being on a forum is there, an opinion was expressed, no lies or smears...simple facts.

A valid question, but probably not on this particular forum. Maybe in The Arms, under Discussion Time?

I think it is important that people can come on here and post a thread asking for help and for others to come on with their experiences, good or bad but if it then leads to a discussion about the rights and wrongs of what happened and why, that part of it should move off the original thread. It isn't helpful to the OP as they are in the situation and need help to come to a decision and not flaming for getting in to is in the first place as it is already too late for that IYSWIM.

And as for reporting someone because they don't agree with your viewpoint, we would all be barred :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

By the way, I had a fantastic Mum who really did try to keep tabs on all of us. I worked hard to make sure she knew where I was 90% of the time, the other 10% I was up to all sorts of mischief that she occasionally found out about and I was dealt with severely!

We don't know that she was having sex with school friends.

Regardless, this thread wasn't started to be a continuation of a thread debating parenting skills and what goes on in schools these days. Hopefully, Poppyfield will come back to update us on her daughters decision, and if she's decided to keep the baby, we can offer moneysaving tips.

Sadly I think people were reporting posts to abuse just because they had a different point of view, this seems to becoming a problem on MSE, if someone doesn't agree with a post they're reporting it. The forum team posted a few days ago warning that if people didn't stop reporting things just because they didn't like the content they would find themselves banned. I saw quite a few posts on that thread saying they'd reported someone when, in my opinion, there was absolutely no need.

If something is posted on a public forum you're going to get a variety of opinions but they shouldn't be reported unless they genuinely are spam or abusive. Using the report button just because you don't like what's being said causes unnecessary hassle for the MSE team and threads end up being locked.

If Poppyfields is reading this I hope your DD is well and the meeting she had yesterday helped. :)

I agee, but why then do MSE bow to those who report for no other reason than they disagree with the opinions expressed? There were a couple of posts which could be construed as abusive, certainly no more. So, why not simply delete those rather than kowtow to those readers/posters who cannot behave in an adult fashion?

Can some of us please learn a lesson from the original thread that all this slanging and assumption throwing isnt called for? If you want to talk hypotheticals, go create a thread of "what ifs" to do so. This is the very reason I refused to post on the original.
