    hi there SMTC,

I am following your posts with great interest, I believe we are at more or less the same stage with our HSBC claims, I have only received my letter today confriming receipt of my complaint etc...please keep posting as to your progress as I am interested to see how you get on and how long it eventually takes. My circs are slightly different though as my loans are over 6 years old so don't know how successful I will be but hey-ho you've gotta try at least - good luck with yours and keep us posted :-)

ooohhh ok, not long to wait now then :-) let us know as soon as you hear from them, I only did mine last week so I got long way to go yet I suppose, I had a letter today confirming my complaint and how sorry they are blah blah lol and the time scales, basically said that they will get back in touch within 8 weeks to give me an update but could take upto 16 for a decision, which I now know from on here is the norm. I'm not sure where I'll stand as my loans are so old but after getting advice in here I decided to at least try or I'd always be thinking what if... don't expect to hear from them now until the 8 weeks are up I guess - good luck with your claim xx I shall be re-posting with updates asap, prob some time in September lol

    Hi Debbie,

Glad you are finding the thread useful.

As I've said I filled in 3 questionnaires and had a letter back saying there was no PPI on one loan and they were looking into the other two loans

One of those is about 11 years old and other a couple of years old.

It is 3 weeks this Friday since they received my questionnaires. Interestingly I see hsbc announce £7 billion profit for 6 months today.

Update from me- just called hsbc to see what was going on with my case and although I sent it out in may they didn't acknowledge it till 17th July!!!!! And because they only acknowledged it then that's when the 16 weeks started! So I guess I have a he'll of a long wait at the moment!
Bit naughty as they should say that in the correspondence!
