Is there any guide on how long banks take to reply to these claims?
I am going off on holiday a the end of this week and would like to progress with this before I go away. (Not expecting to get resolution just chance to turn down a paltry offer!)0 -

most banks have 16 weeks to reply to you. depending when your complaints went in, you should expect an answer by 31st august 2011

In my own experience, I was told (before I requested for a SAR) that they will not hold the data beyond the last 6 years, but decided to give it a go anyway and I received data going back as far as very late 1999.
I am not saying this will happen in everyone's case though, but I just did not expect to receive anything as old as I did lol.

HSBC have called today asking about what accounts I want information about. They should know I've sent them 3 questionnaires.
