Wetherspoon Meals Beware!

Used to go all the time with my partner two meals for £5.99 (that's the kind of flash guy I am) ...
Until last year at the Preston one ... we had the veggie burger each.
Spent next two days in hospital with food poisioning.
Since then never have and will never go back.
But I guess it's same as any high street (cheap/pub) food place. No better no worse. But I feel ill just walking past a JD Weathersponns now.

I keep getting the wrong thing in 'spoons. Seems they employ deaf bar staff or ones who can tell the diffference between the button for chicken salad and half a roast chicken.
I overheard a shockingly bad piece of customer service a month or so ago in a Lloyds (part of spoons but has music, dont know how far they have spread so excuse if preaching to the choir). Gent came back to bar while I was being served, pointed out that the barstaff had put wrong meal on order, chicken and ham pie when he asked for ham and eggs or similar, he had only just noticed when he glanced at ticket. The barstaff said "oh sorry, ah but our kitchen is a lot busier now so will take extra 20 mins to correct that (err queue jump it) would you like to rest of the food as soon as it is ready or kept warm (hmm bet thats rubbery 20 mins on a hot plate) then had the cheek to charge the extra £1 ish between the costs of the wrongly ordered food. (your mistake the customer shoudlnt suffer the cost)
Now I understand they dont employ people for their outstanding talent just a pair of hands and legs (god pray they don thave a brain) for 5.35 an hour but I own a customer service business and if 1 of my staff did that I would hit the roof. You can guarantee that gent will never eat in a spoons again after all that hassle.0 -
i think thats a bit harsh on people that work in wetherspoons ive never had problems and im sure just cause they earn £5 odd an hour dont mean to say they are all thick. Before you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0

Your right davsidipp, that was a bit over the top! Like any customer service based place, you get staff that will go that extra mile to help, and others who don't give a !!!!!! !!! Personally, I cannot fault them - cheap drinks & cheap food ! Don't know what people are complaining about, it is pretty obvious you are not going to get gourmet cuisine for under a fiver...
I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D0 -

If people make a complaint the first time about cold food, then srely they would ensure that the replacement meal is up to standard?0 -

Sorry, I should of made it clearer. First of all I was referring to the 'not so nice' comments made above regarding the staff.
Defo, should of gone out of their way to make sure the replacement was up to scratch.
But my last comments are my opinion - if you want a gourmet meal, as the saying goes - you get what you pay for.I am in the future you know...

the wetherspoons where we live is a bit hita nad miss the breakfasts are normally good but somtimes the lunchtime meals can be a bit dodgy and i wouldn't even touch the kids meals they're totally grossOther women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts0

Lottee I agree you get what you pay for, but that does not mean a cold meal. And a meal when returned is tasteless!
Im sure if the food Inspectors had seen or tasted the food at this restaurant, that they would have had a warning. It was that bad!0
