Never in all my life have I ever tasted such awful food than I did today! My Wife and I decided to have a drink and eat out in Wetherspoons on the South Coast. I ordered a Brunch and my Wife ordered a fish and Salad. The meals appeared and my Wifes was fine, and mine was cold. I complained and they took it back!
It came back 8 minutes later steaming a bit. But the chips looked as though it had been cooked by a blow torch, and the egg was like rubber. The sausage was rubbery as well
I told them to forget my sweet, and the manageress was around un be known to me and refunded all my money for the food!
Sorry Wetherspoons you have put me off for life, I will never go again. I know the food is cheap, but what you dish up I wouldnt feed my dog with it!

I've been 3 times in the last 2 weeks-they do £1.99 breakfast before 12.00, and I have to say it's wonderful!
They also do lovely coffee & hot chocolate, around 70p
A bargain!0 -
I too have found their meals lacking, particularly the burger meals, the burgers make Mcdonalds and company seem positively steak like! I think they must work on the assumption that you will have had several drinks first and probably won't be paying too much attention to the food.?0

I dont think that 1 1/2 pints is a lot to drink do you? My days of drinking alot are over!0 -
it really depends on which one you go to i think
woodgreen (not nice) finchley road (lovely)Yes Your Dukeiness0 -
I've found their meals very acceptable, though from what I've heard, a lot of them are frozen ready-meals that they just microwave. The curries are nice, but not very filling. I could easily have eaten 2.
The thing that bothers me about Wetherspoon's is they keep running out of various food and drink items. I can understand them wanting to minimise wastage by only ordering the amount of perishable food they anticipate using, but really, it wouldn't do any harm to stock up on artificial sweeteners for my coffee!0 -
same here, very impressed with spoons of recent, they used to be very hit & miss.0

Not sure I'm totally with you on this one -Wetherspoons do not claim to be jamie oliver standard and I think CMP is right in that they will probably be stab stab pings
their very low prices reflect that imo. On top of that you said they refunded the money which seems to me to be a reasonable apology for sub standard food.
I have had some really nice meals at my local Wetherspoons and a couple of naff ones but hey you gets what ya pay for.0 -
my parents are always ravimg on about wetherspoons about haou great they are.
i think it depends on how the individual branch is managed you shouldnt tar all weatherspoons with the same brush dealornodeal!!Thanks every1 for making this website what it is, its helped me alot in the past!0 -

Im not tarring them all with the same brush, but IMHO they should all be up to the same standards, or change the management of a branch whom dish out sub-standard food!:mad:0
