I'm now down to £20.53 in my current account, can only hope my salary arrives before the payment going out towards the end of the month, have already deferred the extra outgoing as long as possible ...

I emailed the CEO yesterday making a few points and demanding a call-back about my account as I was unable to get through to CS by phone. I do think contacting CEO is a bit extreme, but they give no email address for their CS, and they don't answer the phones in a timely manner, and regular CS aren't interested - so who else could I email?!?

Over the years have needed to do this on one or two occasions, and this from Tesco was by far the most tardy, ineffective response I received. Other places have responded within 30 minutes max, this took the best part of a day and was rubbish. Promising to forward it on to the tesco bank CEO and attaching their complaint procedure.

I don't want a written complaint response in 3 - 4 weeks time, I wanted access to my money yesterday!! They simply don't care.

What I can't accept is that this is going on so long and there are no notices about the disruption on their login page. They're not helping themselves, if we don't have information then of course we're all going to phone up at once.

When this first happened, it could have just been put down to unfortunate teething problems. But the continued mismanagement and lack of communication, let alone resolution, demonstrates gross management incompetence. Somebody high up should go for this.

OK, can anyone recommend another internet savings account that's easy to open and get running (tesco's wasn't), that's run well (santander's aren't) and gives a decent rate with plenty of access - eg 5 withdrawals a year? Sadly Nationwide's mySave is a little too restrictive ....

What I did like about Tesco was that they renewed the bonus annually at close to, although not quite as good, as new savers - fine for my needs. Would really like an account that I don't need to change every year.

WestBrom had a online saver account paying decent interest rate
    Northern Rock also has one

I have just pulled all my money out of Tesco Online Saver Account, vote with my feet.

Atrocious website, shocking service, bad systems, they never called me back after being on the phone for over 1 hour.

Bye bye, my money is going elsewhere.

I suggest if people are not happy, move your money elsewhere. This has some resemblemance to Icelandic bank accounts where people couldn't get access to their money even though the account is an Online Access account.

Its also rude of them not to even bother to post an apology notice on their main website.

If I close my account now, do I lose my bonus (as would be the case with Santander)? Or do I not need to wait til the end of my bonus year?

Changed security details on 21st June - not able to access my account on 22nd June - because I did not leave my mobile phone number? - Was informed that the mobile number would only be needed if using a different PC to log on.

Seems likely that some genius in the Tesco Software Development team has set up a cookie to handle the 'main PC login' - which if true, gets deleted when I exit my browser - probably most people have their browser set this way and so Tesco have a big problem - most people can't get at their accounts.

I tried phoning the help(NOT)desk and gave up after 20 minutes on an 0845 number.

So I am writing them in the old fashioned way by snail mail to close the account - TescoFiasco:eek:

Just got through now (1 hour wait) to be told the call takers system was down (just theirs), and they would have to get someone else to call me straight back . Tsst *&*//!!* what else can you do but put the phone down and hope!!
Took her name, but what use is that when I probably may never get through again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I have been trying for couple of days to get connected to Savings HELP. 084560109000. Constant "Our rep really wants to talk to you". Music and all repeated over and over. Last night I let it run for Hour and half - BT don't charge for 0845 I very much hope!!!

Another half an hour this morning. Then I had a bright idea- Martin's News.

Why have Tesco not simply substituted "Sorry for problems call back in XX mins/hrs/days. At least we would not be worrying that our accounts had been compromised.

What is infuriating is that there is no way to contact then quickly. No rapid response e.mail requests.

We closed down everything to do with Santander recently. It was just too difficult. Now it seems that Tesco are the same or worse.

We have found the Northern Rock are very good. Must have a look at there savings account. Thohought we wouldn't," Put all our eggs in one basket". Time for a rethink.

    Regards
