Many thanks to the poster who suggested using the IE9 compatability settings. That has done the trick this morning as far as I am concerned but however Tesco are managing the specific computer aspect does not work as the system wants to send a one time access PIN to my mobile. I spent a lot of time yesterday uncertain of whether or not my new security details had been registered. Like some other posters here, my screen just went blank when I got to the end of the process. It now looks as though that was down to IE9? I eventually got through on Help line after 58 minutes but the adviser knew less than I did and was little or no help.
I find it hard to believe that a company that claims to have got big by listening to its customers has gone live with a system that is clearly not up the mark and cannot even cope with the latest browser in its default format. What makes it even worse to me is that there seems to be an official policy to deny anything is still wrong and to make it almost impossible for customers to feedback the problems they are having leaving them to resort to Forums such as this. I can't believe that the IT experts at Tescobank cannot be unaware of some of these issues? Why can they not be honest and admit the problems and offer workarounds or phone numbers for people requiring urgent access to their funds? Customers would then probably be quite understanding and allow them time to get the issues sorted.
It is the arrogance and apparent contempt that most annoys me. In moving to becoming a stand alone bank in its own right Tescobank has become the same as all the other banks and completely forgotten their customer first policy!
I agree 100% with ChrisJohn. I have IE9,and have been unableto log in for 5 days. I have just clicked on the compatibility setting and got straight in. Obviously someone at Tesco's IT dept has c0cked up good style, but why couldn't they put the info about IE9 on their web site, look at how many phone calls they could have avoided. I have transferred most of my money out, does anyone know how to close the account on line please?0 -
Why does it say on the tesco website that service has now been resumed when it hasn't? I still can't log in.0

This is the new message on the Tesco websiteTesco wrote:
A message to customers
Following planned improvements to our banking system, we have experienced some intermittent technical issues. These have prevented some customers from accessing their accounts on-line.
This has greatly increased the number of calls to our call centre and consequently we have been unable to answer these calls as quickly as we would normally.
We would like to apologise to those customers who have been unable to access their savings accounts or have not been able to get through to us by phone.
We would like to reassure customers that service has been restored and they can access their savings accounts on-line and through our call centre which is open 8am to 10pm. We have also increased the number of staff at our call centre to help deal with the increase in call volumes.I came, I saw, I melted0 -
I still can't log in. don't get too excited.0

Been suffering from the same 'blank login screen' problem for the last few days. Luckily didn't need access to my money so have just been following this thread.
I've managed to log in this morning using the compatability button. However when I tried a test payment of £1 to my linked account I got the following error message:
Sorry, we've not been able to complete your request. Please try again or click Contact us.
I've tried again and got the same error message again.
I've got a Santander E-Saver (Issue 3) and whilst I don't like Santander much I've had no problems with them.
The AA Instant Saver is another good instant access account paying 2.8% interest.
Oh dear Tesco, what a pickle you're in!0 -
My wife has been trying to get through to TescoBank since Monday - at least 4 x 1 hour phone calls.......has given up each time after that.
I sent an Email to their Communications / Press team and received a reply from Stewart.Tweedlie@i.tescobank.com - apparently he is part of the Exec Complaints Team. He promised someone would call my wife back yesterday --- guess what - no call back.
Beseige him with Emails and see if that makes any difference!
I have also EMailed BBC WatchDog and the FSA -- don't think it will make much difference - but it helped me!!!!0 -
Also watch out if you are using the 0845 numbers it's costing me 10.22p per minute, currently I have run a bill of over £15 hope Tesco will refund that.......I think not0

Luckily those numbers are free (up to 1 hour) on our BT deal.
Does anyone know the name of the TescoBank CEO????0 -
