Tesco Online Banking Inaccessible

There used to be a thread on one of the MSE forums what was updated with details of Faster Payment facilities and transfer limits for various providers. Tesco was marked with a star which indicated that Faster Payments were actioned at weekend. The implication being that was not the norm. Sadly I cannot find this thread at present.
Have all the problems with Faster Payments being unreliable since migration occurred at weekends? Is it just the case that Tesco has lost its star?
Update: Found it. I should have used Google search instead of Forums search.

I've opened dozens of bank accounts over the years and found Tesco's online facility to be the worst by miles.
I followed this thread with interest since the OP and decided not to raise my blood pressure dealing with their new system.
Having waited now until the fuss has died down I wrote to them this week request my account to be closed and the funds transferred to my nominated account. Two days later all done. Simple.0 -
Tesco Bank site playing up again - used it last week with Firefox with no problem.
Today - 'we do not recognise your computer ..................' - I'm using the same one.
Nothing's changed on my side, so not happy0 -

There are other banks ............No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Unfortunately Chris does not seem to be updating this anymore - the last update was nearly a year ago.

My PC is Windows 7 and Firefox.I have had problems logging on to my Tesco credit card for over week. When I first had a problem I was told by one Tesco employee that I would have to re register because I had not changed over to their new system. I explained I had received no notice of this and was told it might be in the post tomorrow!!! I then completed the re registering procedure. I also mentioned that I had already noticed that their “new” start screen made no mention of the last date and time of customer log in. The old screen did. Surely this was hardly an improvement in security as I always recorded this information to combat fraud. I requested a written reply to this question. I was eventually able to log on by doing a system restore but a few days later had the same problem and had to system restore again! I subsequently received a phone call about my “complaint” that the Date Time of last log in was not displayed. The caller told me that I had not needed to re register as Tesco had allowed for a “seamless transition” for existing customers. I told him my experience was anything but seamless and that I was still having problems with their cookies. He also said that the system was more secure despite me not having access to my previous log in details as they Tesco stored that information anyway. A subsequent letter basically said that nothing Tesco had done should of had any effect on my online banking.
Yesterday I uninstalled and then reinstalled Flash Player and Java. I then realised Flash was not installing correctly. A google search gave me this answer.
Solution: If RealPlayer is installed on your system, please disable the RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in.- Launch RealPlayer
- Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper left corner of the window and choose Preferences.
- Choose Download & Recording from the left hand panel
- Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browsers"
- Click OK and close RealPlayer
- Restart Firefox
My access to Tesco now works. It is a great pity that Tesco appear to know nothing about the problem and basically say it is my fault. Before the problem occurred I had not upgraded any programmes on my PC since my prior successful log in. So what did their system do? I am in the process of writing to Tesco to request they set up a Users forum where FAQs can be discussed. How many other users have had this problem I wonder.0 -

Afraid not, because I closed my Tesco account at the time of the recent fiasco regarding online access. I don't want to bank with an organisation so apparently casual about customer service and so unresponsive to customer concerns. By the look of this perhaps things there have not improved.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.

Have you deleted the Tesco flash files on your PC in error?
Original query sorted back in May, but it took Tesco & DHL over a month to deliver 3 new security passcodes!
But now it's happened again - all Flash cookies in place, saved in Firefox and CCleaner so as not to be deleted. So started keeping my own spreadsheet of deposits, etc. It's not a major savings account for me, just convenient as I work for Tesco!0 -
XP - C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\Shared objects\[Random Name]\ Then which ever flash file.
Thanks a million. I just hit the Tesco login problem and after searching for your old post I was able to restore these files from my backup which saved me the stress of having to call Tesco and wait for them to post me new login details.0
