For those worry about cookies being deleted everytime they log off, stopping the computer being a regular or trusted one (i can't remember what they call it). The helpful Scottish bloke(thank god they are at least based in Blighty) I spoke to explained to me that it was a Flash based file which remember if it was your normal PC, so would not be affected by deleting your cookies.
I'm now up and running, and although the website is pretty basic it does seem like it will do the job for me. The guy on the other end seemed pretty relieved when I didn't start shouting at him, kinda feel sorry for the poor sods at the front end who need to deal with all the moaning, when it really should be the big money makers who are taking the flack!0 -
My hunch is that it makes no difference whether your other accounts are linked accounts or third party linked accounts. But of course I have no way of actually knowing if different levels of security checks apply to transfers to linked and third party linked.
Cheers for the info, this site has answered more questions for me than Tesco's has!
I have just got of the phone to Tesco Bank, and they also said it should make no difference whether your FP's are sent to linked accounts or third party linked accounts.
The lady I just spoke to agreed that it was weird that we are unable to add accounts in our names to the 'linked accounts' section without having to send in statement, especially if they were already set up as our linked accounts.
She has very kindly added them for me so my linked accounts are now showing in the 'linked accounts' section and not in the 'third parties accounts. A couple of times she was also asked to obtain statements from the customer, but checked with her managers and managed to bypass that bit. She also mentioned they can not add 'Third Parties Accounts' via telephone banking, the customer has to do it themselves online. At one stage she had to hang up on me to refresh the system? But she called me back within a minute!Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -

I am so angry it's not even funny. Two hours spent on hold today! They took my details and said they would call me at 9am tomorrow........... I'll let you all know if they call back
I've written a £700 cheque for someone today and I go on holiday tomorrow so I'm screwed if I can't transfer my money to my Santander current account...0 -

25 mins so far, so early days......
When I called them earlier on today to chase up the Chaps payment, I knew from previous experience that the wait time was over an hour, so I called them from the landline on the free phone number, left the phone on hold playing the silly music went out done the shopping, came back after 45 mins and I was still being kept on hold, then another 20 mins later the call got answered!
Result!? I got the shopping done, and the Chaps payment went through too.

See my post #167.0 -
I had the same problem, but when you login (presuming you can login) on the left hand side go to > move money > manage linked accounts > amend - and you should be able to change the 'nickname' to remind you who you are sending payment to.
It worked for me when I did it because like you I just had a list of account holders names in the 'nickname' list and was unable to see what account the payments were going out to.
Yes, thanks - I had just spotted it after deciding to re-visit my a/c online tonight and take a more sedate 'look-around' whilst recovering from my daytime debacle with all the problems I've had (but somewhat less serious than others as my login went without a hitch !).
It would appear that as I thought the range of problems is vast and ever-expanding as more people get to login OK, and as a result discover 'new' glitches due to their particular financial arrangements....
As we used to say in the RAF - 'What a goat !'0 -
AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!
Another problem, just when I thought everything was sorted.
From the Tesco Bank homepage, I select Savings / Login, and enter my Unique ID.
But instead of taking me to the next Login stage, this is what I get, every time:
There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.

When I nevertheless take a chance and proceed to the website, I get told that "This page no longer exists or has moved." And that's it!
PLEASE can anyone help?0 -
They are switching the whole banking operation from RBS to HSBC to-day. Nothing to do with security upgrade.0
