infact could i just transfer the balance over to the ulster bank credit card and apply later for the charges back as I think they are unfair (£12 late payments, £25 not telling them your new address etc). And ask for my insurance back as it was never explained to me in the first place?
I dont need a telling off from people telling me I opened the account so its my fault, I just need good advice on how to minimise any money I have to give and get some money back.
So if anybody can help please let me know!0 -
They paid back my charges without much quibble, i'd go for everything.0

REALLY?? HOW DO i DO THAT?? I have just applied for the ulster credit card so I can move the £280 from the ge capital card. Do I close that once the card comes through? I will still be paying that £4 a month insurance otherwise wont i?
Oh and if I close the account, can I still ask for money back?
cheers!0 -
Yes,you can claim bak even if the card/account has been closed. I am in the middle of claiming back against GE money for Debs and Evans for my O/H. Have sent letters and got responses telling me they are investigating and i don't even know how much PPI shes paid, they do it all for you.0

Hey all,
I added up £120 worth of charges from GE Money, added interest and posted the first letter on Wednesday.
Got a letter back this morning (Wow! They're speedy!) saying that according to OFT, £12 is a reasonable charge and offering me £18 as a gesture of goodwill, covering the difference in each charge over £12.
I'm not settling and sending letter two on Monday.
Will keep you posted.

G.E have mucked me around for long enough - since July last year - send my court papers away and now have a court date for next month.
Will keep you posted!0 -
Sent the letter saying I would not be accepting the £18 but must of posted it on the same day as they posted me the £18 cheque. Doh!
Going to send it back.0 -
Keep the cheque but say you are accepting it as part payment only.0
