Hi. I hope you can help.
I took out a store card from Burtons (GE Money) in 1993. I see from the reclaim section that they have been fined and I can re-claim my PPI.
I sent the letter and have got one back from GE saying that the fine is for policys purchased after 14th Jan 2005 and that the FSA decision is not relevent in my case.
Has anyone else had this. The templates dont say what to do if a fined company refuses and wondered if the normal second reclaim letter is the way forward or do I need to include more info?
I hope you can help. I feel very hard done by since I notice they didnt even make it a tick box on the form it is a tick to say you dont want insurance box (which seems a little unfair)
Hope someone can help
Thanks
Hi I am trying to claim the PPI from my Dorothy Perkins card but I got the same reply from the first & second letters I received both saying that it was not miss sold, however the young lady that said "if you sign up for this card you can save 10% on your purchases" did not say but you will have to pay the insurance as well. I am not sure who to turn to now
can anyone help pleaseLose Weight 24 proud member0 -

Hi, I have finance with GE capital for my car for the last couple of years, due to !!!!-ups by myself, the bank and them, I have been hit with the odd 30-45£ fines.
Now with the climate with CC reclaiming and the banks does anyone know if someone has succesfully reclaimed on this or whether it is possible to try and put a reclaim on it?0 -

HIya, thanks for that, I forgot to mention it was through a car loan though, does this make any difference?0

The fees you mention sound unfair - you can complain to the Finance company about the level and fairness of the charge and they have to treat it as a complaint under their complaints handling process0

Hi,
I have recently received a letter from GE Money in response to asking for copies of my statements over the last six years. They have sent me some of the statements but put in their letter that due to system issues they aren't able to retrieve statements for 10 of the months during that period as those statements are no longer available to them. I am sure I would have had penalty charges during those months...should I approximate a figure to add on for those months that I think is accurate?
I would have thought it would be a legal requirement for GE Money to make sure they have access to those statements?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Just bumping this for you. If they aren't providing the info I would probably add in a charge per month that they didn't provide the info for. I'm sure someone will come along and give you proper advice shortly.
Out of interest how long did you wait for your information? I am awaiting information on 2 GE Money accounts and have had letters to say they are very busy and it will take a while.0 -

I'm sure if you said that you thought you'd paid some large sum of money in that month that coincidentally would have paid off your account then they will mysteriously be able to find the missing statements and dispute this
Seriously though, yes they have an obligation to be able to provide you with an accurate audit trail of what actually happened (this may not be in the usual statement form you expect but there should be some kind of record available)0
