The only way you will get money back from GE is to start court proceedings and they will then pay up before the hearing day.
Sorry to be so blunt but the FLA will do nothing except ask them to pay,GE will say no and that's the end of it. Court is the only way these robbing......(insert own word!) will pay up.

Got money back from GE and Barclaycard, did take almost two years though in the case of GE.

However,GE money related to a mis sold PPI. I had cancelled the DD for this, but, they had registered a default with credit referencing agencies for this.

They claim it is up to me to contact "Aktiv" debt collection agency to get the case put right. My stance is if they had not mis sold PPI there would be no debt therefore the onus is on them to rectfy the situation.

So far they have failed to respond to emails, in the past theyhave claimed not to have received recorded delivery letters on two ocassions, although Royal Mail website indicates otherwise.

Can I take them to court for defamation of character?
  • Hi. I hope you can help.

I took out a store card from Burtons (GE Money) in 1993. I see from the reclaim section that they have been fined and I can re-claim my PPI.

I sent the letter and have got one back from GE saying that the fine is for policys purchased after 14th Jan 2005 and that the FSA decision is not relevent in my case.

Has anyone else had this. The templates dont say what to do if a fined company refuses and wondered if the normal second reclaim letter is the way forward or do I need to include more info?

I hope you can help. I feel very hard done by since I notice they didnt even make it a tick box on the form it is a tick to say you dont want insurance box (which seems a little unfair)

    Hope someone can help

    Thanks

Yep that's the standard reply that you will get - follow up with the next letter and see how it goes.

At what stage did you get a result from GE on ppi - did you have to go via court or anything?
