Most likely they want to make you an offer. You should listen to what they have to say and judge whether you are willing to accept.

I would 'discuss' by letter though. this way you have a record of exactly what's been said. If you are confident of your case, you may wish to speak to them on the phone, but get everything in writing.
  • Just had a letter from them today saying as from 9th July 2007 they are no longer refunding charges except the difference between the charge and £12 they say is a fair charge agreed with them and the Financial Leasing Association.
And guess what, they received my 'request' on 10th July!

Anyone else been fed this line? I guess it's the courts now then and all for £105.

Who the hell are the Financial Leasing Association??? icon_lol.gif

Yes, drag them to court for all of it + interest + court costs & wasted costs (for your time @£9.25 per hour & postage, paper e.t.c.).
  • They do actually exist as the FO told me to go to them since they 'don't do store cards'. I got in contact with them but haven't heard anything since and can't get a hold of them atm as they are closed between 24th Dec to 3rd Jan!

Yeh I looked them up, still not impressed. They have no legal power whatsoever. They're like your cousin Kevin who got a C- in some 'ology' at school & thinks he's a scientist :p

I'm going to put my head above the parapet here - I don't find the Credit Card charges as unreasonable as Bank Charges, because it is normally a maximum of 2 per Month, and they are detailed in the T&C's. Rather than snowballing you into debt, they are just a pain in the butt. Personally, I don't find a £12 fee that unreasonable, as I presume they have to do something if you go over limit, or pay late, and need to cover costs, including overheads.
The impression I got from Sainsburys was that they will refund anything over £12 without fuss, but will fight to keep the £12 fees. Personally, I was happy with that, it seemed pretty fair and saved me a lot of hassle and risk of going to court.
