I have sent the first standard letter to GE Capital asking for last 6 years of statem, ents. They have sent most back with a covering letter advising that they are unable to suply them all. After looking through tham there are 15 continuous months missing.
I honestly believe these months are probably my worst for charges! Just mu luck!
So asking for a pro-rata settlement would go against me.
Any advice would be welcome thanx.

I have asked for statements on Dorothy Perkins card and New Look store cards. Both were replied quickly with a letter stating Data Subject Access requests, complete form, enclose £10 and we'll get back to you. So i completed form and asked them to deduct the £10 from my balance - First question... do you think they will go for that!?
Second question, do you think it would be worth speaking to the customer service team for the store. Someone else posted (sorry not noted your name!) and said that Debenhams settled that way... That seems like a sensible idea i guess.I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
a friend of mine has a similar situation to me with his bank charges and when he checked his statements there are withdrawls from GE capital bank for £14.63 per month, on checking his credit file it turns out this was for a Tandy Budget account(no longer exists?) he temporarily had many years ago. apparently he had a purchase on there which was sent back to the seller as it was unsuitable, from what i can understand the transaction was cancelled.
from what i can see the company who financed the card (no longer exists) is still taking money from this guys account for somethin he returned! can anyone give me some advice as to what chance he has in reclaiming his money back from this organisation??0 -
write to GE capital bank explaining the situation.total the amount and ask as a gesture of goodwill that they repay the money.if they dont answer repeat the letter threatening to add interest(unless he wants to add interest at start).if no response to that two weeks later startcourt action.has he got proof he sent it back?good luck to your mate0

Does anyone have address details for G.E Money as I believe that the court will not accept a PO Box address for court papers to be sent and having just phoned G.E customer services to ask them, they wanted to know why I wanted it and when I said, they refused to give me it!
Thanks in advance.0 -
It depends which GE Money you mean!
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) Register gives basic details on all UK financial services firms. When I put GE Money in to their search I came up with all these.
So you'll need to go back to any paperwork you have to find the exact name of the company you're dealing with and then click on the relevant name in red on the left of the list to find the details of that particular firm.
Or post the name of the company and I can have a look.0 -
