There are girls who got pregnant at 15,14, 12 and even 11. And there will be many more sadly.
Exactly.. there was 1 here had 3 children by the time she was 16... her OH was a few years older and working and supported them before anyone harps on about benefits etc..
I think there are far worse things than becoming pregnant.
It is also a cultural thing in this country and has been since forever... it is hard to change the 'norms' of society. We may have one of the highest rates of teenage pregnancy but we also have one of the poorest education in sex ed as well.. the highest failure rates of contraception and it is more by luck than education whether they know where the FPC is. I couldn't tell you where our nearest one is.. Other countries it is widely known and well advertised. it is more about the stigma of sex here than anything else which is the cause of many a pregnancy.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Most children from quite a young age have mobiles...I cant actually see how having one or not having one would have prevented the situation they are in now...frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Think then you need to make a stance. Get her father round to back you up as to how urgent things are. Decisions need to be made now not next week.Sealed Pot Challenge member #982

Romeo and Juliet, the greatest love story ever known.......except they were 12 and 14
..............anyway I digress
I find it hard to believe that she has not told at least one of her friends. Then again maybe she has and this friend is being loyal.
I think if I was was 15 (and female lol) and got pregnant I would of told a mate. Here to learn and pass on my experiences.

Poppyfield, has your daughter said any more about the counselling that's on offer?
Hope you got a reasonable night's sleep, and please take some time for yourself during this, if you possibly can.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
Is her mobile PAYG or contract? If its contract you can look online to see who she has been phoning/textingSealed Pot Challenge member #982

I can't stand moralising about teenage pregnancy. Kids are pushed by their hormones and their peers, and perhaps it would be more helpful to improve sex ed and block that silly xxxx Nadine Dorries from teaching them abstinence 'education'.
Teenage pregnancies are hard enough without playing the blame game. Perhaps if there was less shame and guilt around sex and pregnancy she would have gone to her mum sooner - or felt able to walk into a shop and buy protection.
