........and so the shambles continues ....just had an email from EDF asking me to look at my new message.......EXCEPT THERE ISN'T ONE!!
My elec reading is on the correct page...but the gas meter reading I entered the other day has vanished...the site appears to want a gas meter reading..but the problems are that there is a description of standard vs the gas (nothing against electric) and that if I try to enter the gas reading it forces me to enter an elec.reading at the same time!!
As Airframe I have a letter with DD instructions for both followed later by a second letter with different dates and amounts for electricity only!!!

My message appear a fair bit later then the Email alerting me to it.
(Email on Friday, message appeared on Monday morning).
• OMG!! I came on the forum to find out how other people are finding switching to EDF, as we requested a switch through moneysupermarket a month ago and still haven't heard a dicky bird from EDF.

I'm now really glad I did, and relieved that EDF have done nothing about it. I'd rather pay more and know where I am than sign up to this debacle. Just goes to show, the service ratings on comparison sites are meaningless.

I assume that since I've had nothing from them I am free to go elsewhere?

I switched to EDF when my E.On tariff ended in May. Switch done, final bill had from E.On, readings given to EDF but they haven't taken any money out of my account yet. They have adjusted the amount slightly though! Better put it on one side as I suppose they'll eventually get round to it. Makes my bank account look healthier meanwhile. Would have stayed with E.On if they could have offered a reasonable tariff, but they couldn't at the time.

I got an email from Moneysupermarket same day as asked for switch (8th June)and an email from EDF asking for me to confirm my email addy after a further 6 days. I have since had three snail mail letters, several emails and 3 electronic messages via my web account;I also have had a phone call from EON checking that I actually wanted to leave- so if you have heard absolutely s*d all I'd reckon that your switch has failed.:T
• I switched to EDF Energy last November. My Account start date was Jan this year. I am paying a fixed DD each month for Gas and Elec. of £89. Each time i phone to check if i can submitt a reading im told that i will be notified by email when i can do so. Its now July and ive yet to successully submitt a meter reading. When i go onto my account online, it shows im on the online s@ver v7 but there is no bills available to view and it states my account is in credit by £546...

not sure what to do as i want to either go on a fixed rate, or switch to a different supplier. and maybe, hope that i get £546 cash back as its in my edf account as a credit...!?!?

If it was like me, it was because they offered a cheaper deal and were not npower. :)
I think I could miss E.On.

A question, if I may.

Got two emails from EDF today saying a message was waiting for me. When I log in, no message, but I see my electricity switch is ready for a meter reading.

This follows what others here have said. However, I've seen others also refer to an exact date when each meter should be read. Do I wait to be given a date, or just read the meter(s) soon as (I'm away until next week anyway).

Thanks.

I've just discovered I can now enter a gas meter reading (Although I didn't get an Email requesting it), I did so immediately.
Although it all seems a bit ramshackle, it is progressing more or less as expected.
I suspect EDF are a victim of their own success with tens of thousands of E.ON customers scrambling to take what is one of the best offers going.
