Finally appear to be signed up for online account - but at the moment it isn't offering me the option of paperless billing - also much of the account info is incomplete - presumably this will be sorted as the switch proceeds (I HOPE!!)

Seems to be the norm, I definitely selected email billing and my account shows paper. Will see what happens.

Glad you finally managed to get signed up online brewerdave.

I actually got my paperwork today - hooray - and am trying to get my head round the tariff rules and t&c's.

Anyone noticed anything unusual with any of them? - I tend to over-read and then get confused at times.
Eg. 'if you are a new customer -dual fuel - supplies could start on different dates'. 'you will not receive the discount for any period where there is no concurrent supply'. 'if you are a new customer you may be placed on the standard tariff until your requested tariff is processed'.

    Do these sound normal requirements?

The dual fuel discount is only £8.40 per annum pro rated ,so don't think slight difference in c/over date for trickery and gas is going to be hugely significant - HOWEVER, I wouldn't be a happy bunny if they put me on standard tariff for ANY of the initial period - I suspect this refers to a new customer moving into a new property (deemed supply)rather than someone just moving supplier (I HOPE!!)

My online EDF account is now showing that the cooling off period has completed - I can still see my EON account at the mo' - wonder when I'll lose access??? I'll gamble for a couple of days then try to input latest meter readings, altho' I raised a bill about 5 days ago to ensure I "LOCKED IN" a guaranteed amount of FOL discount.

Just got an Email asking me to login and enter my current meter readings...
-- That worked fine, but for electricity only
-- I can now also select paperless billing (again, for electricity only).

I guess I'll receive another Email for the gas contract.
One thing I notice is that it's very difficult to tell which contract is which.
Neither the Email or anything I can spot on the on-line system seems to specify which contract is which. I only know as I kept the original (paper) letters.

So, people switching from E.on to EDF, make a note of your contract numbers!!

EDF service hundreds of thousands of customers, they will always make a small percentage of mistakes it is a service business, unfortunately it is only those that get publicity.

Let us know if you do decide to cancel and why.

I suspect you haven't read the many threads since OS7 and beyond. ;)

EDF have a systemic problem not allowing them to service or bill many customer accounts properly while they transition to a new system.

It's also a reason why their phone lines are clogged up because so many applications are going wrong.

Hmm ... I've definitely got two.
I also got two account numbers, two letters, two emails and two direct debits setup.
They all say "Fixed s@ver2", so I guess I'm on the right tariff.

Also, I just got a bill from E.on (it was due anyway) that is for gas only, so the electricity has transferred over, gas seems to take longer as I've read elsewhere on this forum.

It is all a bit mysterious and somewhat worrying.
But nothing's really gone wrong. Yet.

Further potential complication this am. Received a letter in the post which tells me that they are setting up DD for electricity only from 22nd July and thence 14th of the month, yet I had a letter via messages on the website on Wednesday telling me that they were setting up a DD for both utilities from 1st Aug and thence 14th of the month. Same single contract number on both letters.
I'll have to keep a very close eye on the current account so that I don't end up paying twice for the electric

Also was able to enter my gas reading today ....but the web site insisted that I input an electric reading as well -even tho I put the first reading in on Wednesday! So God knows which reading will be used for the start figure!

I'm beginning to regret my decision to switch to EDF !!

I'm in the process of moving to EDF too (from Scottish Power) - and also hope I haven't made a mistake!!

Not got as far as being able to enter any readings yet, but from my switch experience to Scottish Power the Gas and Electricity were many weeks apart - so I don't think that's unusual.
