EDF paperwork + cooling off period

Hmm .. the mystery deepens,
just had an Email that says "You have an important message regarding your EDF Energy account.", but when I login to my account, there is no message!

I got the same email yesterday (having finally managing to get my account registered). It was to do with my payment scheme and the direct debit payments for my electric. Yours might be for the gas as you seem to have the electric one?

Finally having my account registered I notice that they say my supply with them started on the 12/6/11 which was the date I applied via moneysupermarket. Is this normal?
I will have to provide a meter reading shortly - for electric only - similar to others on here the gas registration is still in progress. So I assume my billing with EDF starts from the first actual meter readings I give them for gas and electric?

It should do..but in view of their considerable IT problems...anythings possible! As ih8stress - my account page says supply started 8th June,the date I started the switch. The same page is saying awaiting meter readings for both utilities ...but I put my elec. rdg in last week and it hasn't accepted my gas readings!!! Oh woe..........

My changeover does seem to progressing, but in a somewhat odd fashion!
I've now received a message stating what my gas DD will be and when it will start, but I haven't been able to enter a gas meter reading yet.
However, I have been able to enter an electricity meter reading but haven't had a message regarding the DD for that account yet.

I'm glad its a fix til 2014 - by the time this switch is finally sorted out I'll need a LONG rest from utility calculations!!!!:rotfl:

We can bail out from 1st April 2012 for £30 though, whereas I believe it would cost you £50

(Obviously we are paying more upfront to stay until 2014, if we so desire)

I haven't been asked for any meter readings yet but have details for my electric direct debit starting shortly. (Not looked at my account today yet).

Airframe

I've been asked for meter readings, but only letting me submit Elec. My switch date is supposed to be today according to the application progress page! Somehow I don't believe it. I also got DD instructions for Gas, followed by DD instructions for both, contradicting the first message. This application process is a shambles.
