I have paid off the balance owing on my 0% cards by transferring to another 0% offer. I was not offered any extensions on my 0% cards by either Abbey or M&S. Yesterday I wrote to both asking what they could offer me, I did say in the letter that if there were no current offers then I would like to cancel the card.
Having read this thread I am hopeful that perhaps M&S may give me an extension offer.

Just an update - Abbey offered me nothing so another card bites the dust and I am still waiting to hear from M&S.

I cleared my M&S &More credit card and a month later was offered another 0% for 6 months, no BT fee, up to 100% of credit limit.

Having only last week transfered my MBNA balance over to Egg 0% aniversary deal. They call me up last night offering me a balance transfer or super transfer at only 0.9% ! I have a large credit limit and could stooze £10,000 easily. Trouble is I was watching Simpsons at the time and could not be bothered with him. Maybe I should call back. £10k over 6 months at best savings account is how much?

In December I b/t from my lloyds platinum c/c to my virgin card as virgin had 3.9% unitl April. As and existing customer, Lloyds rang last week offering me either 0% for 6 months or 1.9% for 9 months to balance transfer onto the Lloyds platinum card with no balance transfer fees. Have taken the o% offer.

Thought I would join in the 0% credit card for balance transfers, not that I have much to transfer so I applied for a Lloyds TSB platinum card. Oh My God! Got turned down with a long waffly letter about my credit score!! Here I am an ex-career civil servant with only a small mortgage and a car loan with a decent pension and no other debts.............I feel like a leper! Any other lepers out there and how did you deal with rejection? It's never happened to me before.

Did not get turned down, but they offered me such a low credit amount that they might as well have turned me down.
I feel I wasted a credit card application. Do not want to apply for another CC for a few months as worried it will affect my credit score and also applied recently for the barclays £100 current account offer.

Does anyone know how many applications in a short space of time affect your credit score?

Also did other people get a really low amount offered by Lloyds.

    Hi BoltonMinx
I paid off my M&S&More CC early last year but they have just turned me down for any more 0% credit. So I have now cancelled the card with them.

Just interested to know did you use yours only for BT's or did you at any stage use it as a normal CC. I can never understand why they operate such different policies for customers, trying to figure out where I lost out. I have an excellent credit record so no probs there.
    Thanks

Think hsbc bought M&S cc fairly recently - wonder if that's a factor?

    Hi

I've only ever used my card for BT, in fact, I wasn't out of my first BT period (9 months) when they offered a second BT for 6 months.

    Hope this helps
