cleared my Virgin card balance (balance was as a result of a balance transfer ) - was told that there would be no promotional rate BT available due to not using the card for purchases - they said if i was to make purchases on it then in a few months something might be available (this is no good to me as Im looking for something this month/next). Chap on the phone said that there is no period of time that I have to wait before applying as a new customer - just wait til the account shows as closed on credit file which he siad should take a week or so. does anyone know if either (or both) of these last two comments are correct or not?
Cheers
Steve
all a bit of a shame really as Virgin have usually been pretty good for this sort of thing in the past0 -
I just spoke with Virgin and there were no BT offers available. chap was quick to offer to transfer me to someone to get a better rate on my outstanding balance tho. Shame I called at 1945 and that department closed at 1900! Will call again tomorrow.
Got rude chap at Barclays who didn't want to be helpful.Wins: CD...

Online virgin money credit card had an offer of 0% BT until April 2011. Normal BT 3% fee. Money Transfer 5% Fee. Last week they had an additional offer of Money transfer upto July 2011 with 5% fee.
Looks like they are changing online offers every week or so!! as the week before that there were no offers on my online account. Needed to do a BT but surely not at these rates. Longer term offers would be preferable.
Any idea if Halifax are doing the 4.94 LOB offer anymore??:beer::beer:0 -
I just got offered 4.94% for 12 months by Halifax, but then I already have existing balance on card (at 0% until Nov) and ridiculous £13k limit.
HSBC won't offer anything...LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
When I managed to speak to Virgin person there were no offers available for me. They did say though that they do their offers in cycles every coupleo f months so it's worth asking again at a later date. Just (hopefully) got a Nationwide one at 0% tho. Hopefully the limit will let me get most money onto 0% for a while.Wins: CD...
