I work in Bognor regis, and i think its all over the place not just at Butlins - am sure its in other places too not just Bognor!

Sorry for resurrecting his old thread. Do you know if there's an issue this weekend?

Reason for asking is we're currently at the Wave hotel and so far this afternoon have seen two different children chuck up and one yesterday!

Butlins have wisely installed hand washing points all over the place, which is good, but curious whether there's a current problem.

Dunno if it's connected but our accomodation was changed a couple of days before arrival..

Well that's extremely suspect in itself. The problem is that they will want to keep it to their chest as much as possible (as they do when they have their rat problems).

if you do get any information out of them, it will only be half a story - they have too much custom.money to lose. But ask yourself.....what other holiday resort have you ever known to install hand sanitising stations around their site?

Butlins had these stations everywhere on the site even before the norovirus outbreak last year. So not suspicious at all I'd say.
  • A lot of places have these hand washing points now. Children throwing up wouldn't particularly concern me (too much junk and running around). Teenagers or adults would be a red flag. Don't let it ruin your holiday.

I wouldn't eat/stay there either if it's anything like their Caister site?

I live in Bognor, but havent heard of any Norvo outbreaks for a while, that said i do have several friends with young children and nearly all of their kids have had a sickness bug in the last week - so im thinking its a bug going round in little kids maybe.

I hope its not Norvo as i had it in January and really dont want it again so soon! But it is really only a sickness bug, yes its pretty nasty for 24 hours but for the majority of people its just an unpleasent inconvience, so dont ruin your break worrying about it.

Wouldnt know, never been there and never stay in Havens own vans.

We have our own van on primrose valley and other than the pools we don't really use the onsite facilities, there is a really good pub just outside the entrance and its only a short stroll down the beach to Filey for some decent grub and drink (that wont bankrupt you!). :-)

  • Lots of places installed the hand sanitising stations at the time of the swine flu panic and have kept them since for potential future problems.
