There is a large outbreak of norovirus at butlins in Bognor Regis they are putting people into quarantine to contain it but they are still letting new arrivals in !!!!...............BEWARE this virus can kill ! If you have booked dont let them fob you off saying its all ok.

I'm there now, had a letter in the room saying a guest had vomited in a public area, and giving general advice about norovirus.

Seems like a lot of cleaning going on, don't know much else at the moment though.

Are they decontaminating all of their food areas?

I think the only cleaning they are doing is sweeping under the carpet, as they are trying to send people home !!

They seem to be disinfecting everything - pretty thorough really, couldn't hire a dvd as they were cleaning them too!

if they're not spraying your hands on the way into the restaurants don't eat there...

they do this on cruise ships as a preventive measure as anywhere that there are people in a fairly captive environment the norovirus will spread rapidly.

Take your own hand spray with you, and keep your hands away from your face, same goes for everyone else in the family

Don't eat there, eat out! There are plenty of cheap places to eat in Bognor town centre, the restaurant at Bognor Butlins is huge, it only takes one idiot to not wash their hands and everyone else will suffer.

I used to work in the customer service department of Butlins at Bognor - there were so many complaints about people who had stomach bugs whilst there. Their attitude was always "without proof ignore the letter!" They wouldn't entertain refunds etc without written proof from a GP or hospital that it was a recognisable bug i.e. norovirus etc.

Just a word of warning - I worked there and I NEVER ate there - I saw what went on in the background!

Afraid spraying your hands will actually be of little help....Norovirus is one of the bugs that is not effectively removed by sprays,,,,you need to wash your hand with soap and water.
