Just a warning, alcohol gel and hand sanitisers won't kill the bugs which cause stomach upsets. Only soap and water will do that. You may think that you are being extra careful but you're offering yourself no protection really. My friends have just been asked to leave Butlins (as soon as they're safe enough to drive) as one of them has got the norovirus..... they have been told they will get a refund for their holiday but they're really gutted :-(0

We went to skegness one, and my partner was really ill. He was mortified when he was spewing in the middle of everybody watching the Barney show lol...i thought it was a hangover, but when i seen the lack of energy for days and the squits and amount of vomit, then it was clear it was more. I then got it and i dont drink. I am so thankful my little girl didnt get it. We also were eating in, the food was crap anyway, i now wonder if this was the cause of bad hygiene in the restaurant? If it ain't reduced, i don't buy it! :j0

THE restaurant? There's not only one. When we went a few weeks ago there were 6 restaurants for half board guests, plus numerous other places to eat.0 -
Noones allowed to self serve in the restaurants, only staff wearing gloves can touch stuff. No need to quarantine the ice cream machine though! They are giving tubs from the freezer instead ?! I asked at the shoreline hotel and they said several guests had left as they were so ill. It's definitly quiet but tomorrow is a changeover day so a lot will be leaving anyway. We are here till Friday though!

Its not just inside Butlins it is all round Bognor at the moment. A friend works at a nearby GP and says they having a lot of local residents with similar symptoms.Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

Norovirus spreads like wildfire and comes on with little or no warning. Some people don't seem to get it though. One Doctor I worked with had been told by a friend that it was due to blood group as some are immune. It's hard to tell though because not everyone knows their blood group. Some people seem to get it every time it goes around and others rarely or never get it. I've had it twice: The first time we'd ever come across it in 1999 and the day after I started my maternity leave in 2003 (that was fun- first I worried that I was going to die, then I worried that I wasn't). I have never been so sick, I just stood on my driveway chucking up all over the car with my 2 year old in it crying. She had to help me round to the front door because I was on my knees. Not fun
