We received £193 refund for leaving but this won't even pay for another short break at butlins....my complaint was how we were treated like leppers and were not given any information re the noro virus outbreak even though people who were going to bognor on the same day we arrived at minehead were offered to rearrange their hol.0

You would have been refunded for the days you had left of your holiday that were not taken. I cannot speak for Minehead, but Bognor Regis has had holidaymakers that were there at the time, ring up to say how well the situation was handled at their Bognor by the team.0 -

Thanks for your advice0 -
Just to be clear, my complaint about Butlin's is not about cleanliness, or the fact that someone somewhere has introduced this nasty virus to the resort. It absolutely CAN break out anywhere. My problem is the total lack of any sense of responsibility to their customers' welfare during and after their stay. I think the story made it to one national newspaper (so far...!) and I'm sure it wasn't Butlin's who released the info'. In my eyes this makes them far from family friendly, just more money friendly than anyone on this site! Thanks to those who showed concern, my princess is still not 100% - 3-weeks later! Only just back to school - so much for paying extra to visit in school hols!!!0

Can you be 100% certain you got it from touching SOMETHING at Butlins and not SOMEONE who already had it when they arrived for their 2 day stay? You did have contact with any other people there? Did your son touch anyone or stand near them and they cough or sneeze?
When your son was harbouring the bug and he coughed into the air or sneezed, did he give it to anyone else nearby? And the other children that might have caught it from that cough - do they blame you? Or do they blame Butlins for not cleaning properly?
Whats the point of being this way??!!!!!
I was mearly expressing my opinion, as this is what forums are mainly about arent they? There is no need to belittle what I or anyone else says. I dont appreciate your tone. There is no need to make something negative and put a confrontation spin on things but I imagine your reponse will be similar.
And as a response, YES it could of been from SOMEONE or SOMETHING but the point is that people are going there and getting ill so does it really matter? All the time people are going the longer it will take for the bug to leave.0 -
i was planning on using £1 entry day pass thing in the local paper to go to butlins bognor this weekend, but unfortunately my son was violently sick towards the end of this week, and my daughter became ill on saturday with the same symptoms... i live 10 miles from the resort, so perhaps i could assume that the bug has now spread further afield in the local vicinity...
still, could be worse, it wasn't e-coli for example...0 -
