  • Hi Everyone!

This thread is fantastic ... I booked something last night in quite a sleepy haze and was going to post my report as soon as I got my confirmation through ...

I booked the NH Calderon (4*) in Barcelona for 4 nights through easyjethotels for £1,004 ... and found it on find-rooms for £466 ... difference being £538 ... double difference being £1,076 = FREEBIE!

I took the screenshots and saved them into a Word document ...

Submitted my claim via the "contact us" page at about 11pm ... and went to bed feeling quite smug with myself ...

HOWEVER! ... I've got to work this morning and checked my e-mails ... to be greeted by:

I am writing this to let you know that we've acknowledged your claim. I am forwarding this to our head department to look into it and will get back to you with their decision.

Please find files attached with screen shots of the hotel offered on find-rooms - double/twin standard (what you have on your voucher) quoted at 882GBP total so the difference is 122 GBP ie 244 GBP doubled.

The price has gone up on the comparison website from me booking last night at 11pm - to it being checked by them this morning at 6am!

Being at work - I don't have the saved Word document to e-mail them the screenshots which will have to wait till I get home ...

Has anyone else had this problem where prices have changed between booking and hearing back from CS - and - what do we think the chances are of them changing their minds once I send them my screen-shots?

I know all I'll lose will be £15 ... but I'd be awfully upset having got all excited about going on a free holiday!

    Appreciate any feedback/suggestions anyone has

    i'll help ya

what dates have you booked for, lets see if we can get another claim in b4 24hrs are up, or a standby hotel
  • I'd gone for arriving 25 April 07 - departing 29 April 07 ...

I've got days off that need booking before the end of April otherwise I lose them ...

My other half has her university dissertation deadline of 10 April - so we can't go before that ...

but destination/date wise (other than as above) am flexible ... and to be honest ... we were just looking for a freebie ... I don't need to go away ... I could just book the days off from work and sit at home ... but if it only costs flights - then why sit at home!

Cheers though pal ... very kind ... I doth my (snowy) hat

btw travelrepublic.co.uk is accepted as a comparison, i have done it many a time.
  • From Travel Republic

    2 Adults Double
    Bed And Breakfast £471.63

    2 Adults Twin
    Bed And Breakfast £471.63

    2 Adults Double/ Twin Standard
    Room Only £775.63

    2 Adults Double/ Twin Standard
    Bed And Breakfast £887.32

My booking is for a Double/Twin Standard with Bed & Breakfast...

which Travel Republic says is £887.32 ...

Are they going to try and have me on the basis that I (might - can't actually remember) - but I might have found a room that was "Double" not "Double/Twin" ...

Is it worth submitting a price-match with the £471.63 price or not?

    Hmm ... the confusion!

Thanks for your help you guys though ... feel free to carry on :rotfl: :T

Looks like they are starting to fight back?!

I submitted a claim on Jan 23rd, and yesterday chased it up as had heard nothing. They have replied saying that they didn't receive my claim.

I have replied with screen shots of the relevant website, and telling them that I received an auto email from them saying 'Thank you for contacting us'!

Will let you know what happens! x
    Gone ... or have I?
