Kids are 9 and 3..booking 2 rooms..this is gonna get expensive innit!? Guess this kinda deals are great for singles and couples but not familys on a budget lol.
How much did you get the flights for?

We fly out with easyjet and come back with BA(dont' ask me why cause hubby did the search and reckon that's the best deal), but it's in Gatwick, total cost for 2 of us is about £120 which is not too bad, you can try easyjet as well see what comes up, don't forget the car park charge or taxi from and to gatwick.

I wouldn't say the deal works better with single and couple, for example, if you can find a nice hotel room cost less than £50 after the difference, times 2 it will still be less than £100 for 4 of you. But if you stick with one room, as there is only 2 hotels available for that kind of the room on easyjet website, there is tiny little chance you get a good deal, isn't it? The whole point of booking 2 rooms is that will make lots of more hotels available on easyjet, thus hugely improve the chance of getting the same hotel for much cheaper on other website........then comes the double difference.....

y-2z = is all I pay the minimum value of £0

That is a fine Bargain.

£0 is the effective cost ie after refund of double the diff.
You have to pay easyjethotels £y then put your claim in within 24hrs of booking.
Within 30 days of completed stay, you get your refund y-2z

Just make sure you adhere EXACTLY to the T&Cs

Will easyjet accept Octopus Travel as the comparison? I have found a hotel in Barcelona (for a family of four) for £590 on the easyjet site but £409.xx on Octopus.
The part that worries me is that to get the price on Octopus I have to click to request it. The hotel has quad rooms as standard though so surely it wouldn't count as a special request? (the website t&c state:vi) On-request rooms are excluded from this price promise and rooms must be available for immediate retail consumer bookings online) Octopus will let me book now
