Yodel delivery services - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Hi, I'm just in the middle of probably the worst experience I've ever had with a service company.
I booked yodel through parcel2go.com to come and collect a parcel of mine last Friday. Now, I had actually used yodel twice before with absolutely no problems, so I figured it would be alright.
They didn't show up at all on collection day, which was annoying as I stayed at home. I managed to book another courier through parcel2go.com, tnt, to come on Monday.
Come Monday I'm at work and my mum's at home; Yodel appears on our doorstep despite not being rescheduled for collection and despite parcel2go.com (according to them) sending a cancellation message. My mum not knowing which courier was supposed to show up, gives it to them. TNT come a few hours later to find no parcel to collect.
After spending a good few hours on their live chat, I was told by parcel2go that the parcel would be returned to my address on tues so tnt can recollect on weds, but its now thurs and it hasn't been collected yet.
I was on the phone to yodel customer services yesterday after holding for 15min, and they wouldn't call the borehamwood depot to see if it was there, they said it was parcel2go's responsibility.
So now I'm waiting like a fool to be updated by parcel2go. I have absolutely no idea where the parcel is. It does have my address and the sender's address clearly marked in 2 places on the parcel, so its not like they don't know where to return it to.
I'm just stumped, what should I do? And does anyone know the location of the Borehamwood Yodel Depot? I've tried finding it on google but bizzarely I can't get a location.0 -
Updsye . Parcel been delivered . Packaging not the best condition but its only resistence bands from Sports Direct n their stuff usually are unsealed when buying from store. Lol, now on tracking site it says delivered twice. First signed by my surname n today signed by random name assume its the delivery driver cost he never asked me to sign anything n seemed like he was walking on coal . Now only complaint is he rang just as I was about to get few hours Kip.. one of the blessings and pitfulls of being a graphic/photo retouching freelancer.0

i couldn't believe that argos are using yodel, my parcel was apparently delivered and signed for 2 days ago, but not by me! Now have to wait for argos to get the details for me. Tried calling yodel (10p/min from landline!), spent £2 waiting for an available operator but gave up!
This company needs to be investigated by the business ombudsman if there is such a thing.0 -

I don't think there is.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Yodel are closing many depots in the next few weeks, while other depots will be taking on their business. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Yodel phoned me today to apologise for not being able to fulfil my delivery as promised today but they have "misplaced" my parcel.
....my parcel is a double-mattress :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Also they said they would ring me "perhaps tomorrow or Friday to let me know if they find it".
....is there no Thursday in Yodel-Land?Emergency savings: £0 saved / £4000 target0 -

Update - they didn't ring me on Wednesday or Friday. I phoned very whom I bought the mattress from, and they weren't interested at all as their promise to me had been to get the mattress to me by 29th June, and the failed delivery date was between me and Yodel. Very said they would only act if the mattress doesn't get to me by 29th June.Emergency savings: £0 saved / £4000 target0 -

shame they dont close all of them and p155 off for ever
big companies will keep using them because they are offered stupidly low rates for delivery which will allways come before c/service0 -
I ordered from Littlewoods who use Yodel. it was just a tablet PC. ordered on the friday, got dispatched on the monday, got to the distribution centre on tuesday, then it showed the day it would be delivered on and the route. eg: "WED4590". It said WED so that obviously means it would be delivered wednesday. But it wasn't! they just moved it to some othere place called W MIDDLETON and its been like that since! Today was the expected delivery date too! and the latest! and I found this on Littlewoods website when i checked the tracking:
"We are currently experiencing some delays with delivery of our larger items (items that it takes 2 men to carry). Some orders previously scheduled for this week are now due to be delivered to customers next week. Our team will contact affected customers by Wednesday 11th July to confirm the new delivery date. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience."
Okay, this is Yodel for you! BUT since when would it take 2 men to carry a tablet PC!! I assume I am one of the affected customers! Wish Yodel would just go out of business. My mother ordered a treadmill and the courier was yodel yet again. My house is hard to find, So they rang me when they was near my house, so i could go and meet them to show them where my house is (a good 60 metres from main road) and they refused to deliver it as it was too far away and the treadmill was 100kg! so they said they will get a smaller van next week and try again. guess what. yep, never happened! so we ordered from a different courier and company of course. courier was pink link I think, and they took it down no problem. and this was just one guy with the right equipment! Yodel had 2!!0 -

Then some other company will fill the void and offer a similar cost related service so you're no better off.
Companies can choose to use more expensive carriers who can give a better service, but for bulk deliveries it's too expensive.
You can have good service, or you can have cheap service. You rarely can have good, cheap service.0
