Another £1 cleared from Egg. Was counting out change I'd found in various handbags and put it towards my Egg total.

Another day, quite sore today after fall yesterday. OH annoying me by phoning me continually at work (ok it was for a reason but not that important), does he not realise it could get me into bother?

Do you not have caller ID? Why don't you answer "Hello, insecurity helpline. How can we be your comfort blanket today?"

:rotfl:you don't know how hard that made me laugh! :D
ZTD, are you secretly michael mcintyre or some other famous comedian and we don't know it? You really cheered me up, thank you :o

Unfortunately we don't have caller ID on our desk phones, tv's everywhere (showing various film/entertainment and sport channels, great recently if you were following the tennis) but no caller ID (that may give a clue who I work for). If I thought I'd get away with it I would, believe me but the grief (i.e. a row) I'd get wouldn't be worth it. Only my Mum seems to be able to get away with that with him, telling him how it is.

On a brighter note he's finally seen sense about one of the kids and is letting them stand on their own 2 feet no more running around daft picking up the pieces for us. Long may it continue......

He rows with you because he knows you'll knuckle under. He doesn't row with your mother because she's already measured his testicles to fit in her earrings...

Really funny, but probably a grain of truth?

Glad to hear that OH is trying to put you and him first that must be hard. It is called tough love for a reason, it isn't just tough on the child but tough on the parent too.

But at some point you have to stop being an enabler...

More than a grain of truth Chev, he's seen me back off from his kids and it caused rows. Now he's lifting the blinkers and seeing why.

    Hi Uni
sorry i've been MIA when you could have done with a shoulder, but at least you've had some lovely other friends to help you.
How's you're grandad? hope he's havings some better days.
Bah to your OH, sometimes they just don't think about the fact that you're at work and don't have the time or can't really talk to them. I know my mum has called me at times because she needs to discuss something or get if off her chest that minute without respecting the fact that i may not wish to discuss the matter whilst at work.
Hope the tough love continues with the kids and eases a bit.

Thanks LT, hope you're doing ok.

Ok folks I did something VERY stupid and now I'm kicking myself. I applied for a 0% balance transfer (seriously what was I thinking :wall:) as you can probably guess I got a big fat rejection. I was planning on transferring Egg and a little of 'Doi' as its the highest apr to help me out a bit. Now I think I'll stick to my original plan and clear Egg as fast as I can and transfer a bit of Doi to C1 as and when.

I'm just hoping by applying for it I've not done anything stupid if you see what I mean? Haven't applied for a cc in years (at least 4 if not 5). :(

yes it's a rejection but it's not the end of the world, there's loads of people getting rejected for cards these days. Just give it 6 mths plus before you try again. Did they give you any idea of why? Have you checked your credit report recently for any funny business on there?
