    How is everyone?

Its been a strange week, the lady I'd made friends with at work left on friday. I'd organised her leaving present and was supposed to be paid back by people, how many people paid me back? .... One! Still out tonight to a restaurant (buffet meal to keep costs down) with OH to meet my friend (as her leaving do) and her husband. We're going to stay in touch. I still can't believe the rest of our colleagues (bar one) not paying up.

SS is having a friend to stay tonight, I'm not too happy about it (as they're going to be drinking and the last time we let him drink in the house the tv got broken) but he got to gut (deep clean) his bedroom, the bathroom (which he has main use of as we have a small shower room attached to our room) and hoover the hall. He has done it but its his attitude. We're obviously going out tonight but we've not told him that and we won't be out late. But is it wrong to worry? OH thinks I'm being harsh but I just don't see SS respecting anyone elses stuff and he constantly says he's no money as an excuse to use toiletries/snacks etc which I've bought and spends his money on junk food and rarely shares. He never offered anything extra when I wasn't working (all I got was a sob story that he was skint). He actually has more disposable income than OH and I put together.

Debts, are getting there slowly. OH paid back some of the money from his op to me. Now some of this was my pension money I got when I got made redundant. So that is back in my ISA and the rest was to pay off what I have used on my cc (beast). Cashback is mounting up nicely.

hi Uni, sorry to hear about your friend leaving work and how people haven't paid up, guess you'll have to nudge them about it.

I'm trying to pay back some our savings money's for the car because we had to use it for the bathroom works, so to do this i've reinstated transfering across the 'you have saved' bits on receipts, went through a load today and have so far transfered £36 so it's a great start. Last time i did this for a year i saved over £300 without noticing it.

Thats a good way to do it LT. I might start doing that. I put aside £2 and 20p coins saved into 2 separate piggy banks. I've not counted it up since after starting it again after emptying it for blackpool in july.

Its been a long week so far. Work is slightly better but not much. Glad to be working though and looking forward to getting paid tomorrow. I am skint but everything is accounted for. Speaking to a friend today who's put in his PPI claim he's been told he'll get £28000!!! I really need to do mine. I know I keep saying but I think I need a kick up the backside with this. Potentially there's money out there with my name on it and i'm doing nothing about it.

On a lighter note I've been buying a few bits for Christmas. Home Bargains has had some great deals as have Morrisons. I got a tray of 12 donuts for 75p! Not good for the waistline I know but OH and SS were happy.

Quite glad I have tomorrow off even if I don't get paid for it. I really wasnt well when I came home on friday. I went to bed for a few hours and spent saturday afternoon curled up on the sofa watching lots of nice films (feel good films I remember from my youth). All too quickly its sunday night again.

Got nice pressie from my SIL who's just back from holiday. Sweeties and a tea towel. Spent afternoon at my Gran's and used my DIY skills to make a new screen for her extractor fan. Used wire micro mesh and a picture frame and created a new screen that matches her kitchen. The previous one was white plastic and blew off in the last storm and smashed on the kitchen floor. This is much stronger.

Home prep for winter I have put bubble wrap on the window in our downstairs toilet. The room seems a little warmer after only a few hours. I try to avoid using that room as its normally freezing in the winter! OH is quite impressed. Got a few more christmas presents and I'll add them to my spreadsheet. Sad I know but it means I can keep an eye on what I spend and know exactly who's getting what!
